I spent a decade addicted to opioids: Here’s why Pete Buttigieg gives me hope – TheHill

I have used recreational chemicals in the past, that’s no secret. I am lucky though I never got addicted to anything. That being said I have been affected by the opioid crisis.

One of my best friends of 39 years became addicted while I was living in a different city and I knew nothing about it. When I returned to my so-called hometown it became obvious that I was meant to be as his ATM machine. I just thought that’s the recession had hit him hard and whenever he asked for money I would give it to him if I could.

It wasn’t until after my assault that I found out that in fact he was addicted to heroin. I feel so sorry for him and his family. I remember him telling me that he had gone skiing in Aspen and it hurt his knee. He never talked about it again. Turns out it’s the same old story oh, he was giving opioids and when the supply was cut off he went on to heroin.

Peter Buttigieg is a refreshing change from the politics of today. He is bright, charismatic, intelligent and most importantly he does not seem erratic. We have this creature in the White House. Has taken over our lives I think we need somebody like Peter to calm everything down. Look, I like Joe Biden but Joe Biden is too old. I like Elizabeth Warren but she’s going to be painted as a socialist. Kamala Harris hasn’t taken off and Amy klobuchar just doesn’t seem to have the temperament.

At the end of the day I hope and pray that Peter will be our nominee and I think he can take us to the finish line. We need to end this nightmare.

Trump administration scraps three border wall projects – TheHill

We’ve heard the same song for 4 years…

I am going to build a wall and Mexico is going to pay for it

I’m going to build a wall and Mexico is paying for it

I’m going to build a wall and the American taxpayers and veterans will pay for it is the truth. his vanity wall is just that a vanity wall. Look I have a vanity blog, as you can see there are no ads on my blog, I paid for it out of my pocket. I don’t expect my readers to pay for it or for that matter Mexico.

He has a supreme court and his back pocket and God help us if we don’t win the presidency in 2020 as well as a majority in the Senate.

Because in 2021 only Trump knows what skiing he’s going to cook up and claimed that someone else will be paying for it, most likely going to be the American people.

Nunes campaign drops lawsuit against constituents who accused him of being a ‘fake farmer’ – TheHill

The irony of it all. The Republicans that relish having dark money so they can use it like a trojan horse to confuse the electorate is now crying foul, or in this case crying moo.

The Republicans who have used dark money since the horrendous citizens united supreme Court ruling are now upset because it’s being used against them. if there is one thing that has ruined our body politic its citizens united and it’s unlimited flow of dark money which confuses the electorate into voting for things that are not in their best interest. Devin Nunes loves dark money but now he’s complaining about it.

I remember when the Republican party were against frivolous lawsuits and yet here we have the co-chair of the intelligence committee in the house suing constituents and Powell’s on Twitter. Talk about frivolous lawsuits.

Do your job Devin Nunez and stop suing people left and right, if you did your job right nobody would be suing you.

And by the way you are a fake farmer.

Juan Williams: McConnell’s Supreme Court hypocrisy – TheHill

When the history of our country is written in 50 years, if there is a country like we know right now, historians will talk about how Mitch McConnell almost destroyed our democracy. In the other scenario, there will be no historians, and for that you can thank Mitch McConnell.

Mitch McConnell doesn’t like being called Moscow match. Mitch McConnell should stop being such a vile creature the kind of politician that everyone despises even those on his own side. I hope the people of Kentucky will select a different Senator but I’m not very hopeful, it is Kentucky.

Mitch McConnell is the kind of politician that makes those who know nothing about politics hate politics. Politics has gotten dirty name in our country and you can thank Mitch McConnell for much of that. His refusal to even bring Merrick Garland supreme Court nomination to vote was despicable. What what is more despicable is the fact that his so-called McConnell Rule doesn’t apply when there’s a republican in the oval Office.

I’ll boil it down to one word, he’s a liar.

He should be ashamed of himself.

Trump says he will approve ‘major middle income tax cut’ if GOP wins House, Senate in 2020 – TheHill

What president has ever said something like this? What did he do but openly bribing the American electorate. Sure politicians do it all the time but not with these kind of conditional promises.

he is unhinged, unfit and erratic. He scares me and he scares the rest of the world. I’m not sure when or if the giant corporations that run us will start worrying about him. Of course some of them are drooling for a war so we can buy new Jets, tanks and whatever other killing machines they’re willing to sell. but beyond that you would think that the fact he is destroying the fabric of our government would be worrisome. I’ve given up on the Republicans because the Republicans bought and paid for have the Democrats aren’t that much better to be honest.

Dark money is the issue here. The Koch brother can now do more damage and there is nothing to stop him.the Amazon is on fire and you can thank the Koch brothers for that in part. They have stripped cut Forest throughout the world including the Amazon to feed their pockets of Georgia-Pacific. Yes we need would but there’s ways of doing it using sustainable products with the Koch brothers don’t care all they wanted was to make as much money using up the resources of our dying planet.

Sono the liar in Chief is not going to give you a tax break, if he was going to give you a tax break if you do it right now. There’s a recession looming and he needs a tax break to the people-watching we will spend the money. So far the corporations who how are paying almost nothing in taxes now aren’t doing anything to stimulate the economy. Trickle-down economy is basically the way how liquid will trickle down your leg into your shoes, it is disgusting. The house would be more than happy to vote on a true tax reform bill which would increase the taxes on the rich and Lord for the poor but he’s not looking to do that nor will he.

He is the liar in Chief.

Chris Wallace becomes Trump era’s ‘equal opportunity inquisitor’ – TheHill

I am not a fan of Chuck Todd on Meet the Press. He likes to hear his own voice and he’s a crybaby. His terrible performance during the Democratic debate in June is indicative of everything I’m saying. But I remember one Sunday when he lamented the fact that he could not ask probing questions has he feared not being able to book guests on the show if they thought he was going to be too difficult with them. And he took all of the other talk shows with them. All the other talk shows except for the one hosted by Chris Wallace. Chris Wallace has niver taken a backseat to a guest unwilling to answer questions. He probes and probes and always at the end of the day makes himself look like a fair person then someone that just sits there and plays that.

So week after week we get headlines from Chris Wallace’s show weather it been with one of the members of the current administration or people that come on and show 2 give the propaganda of the current occupant of the White House. He does not let them and asks question after question until they relent.

Perhaps the other talk show hosts should consider taking a book out of his page.

And while you’re at it MSNBC and NBC, perhaps you can find a replacement for Chuck Todd. He’d be great on today, a show I never watch.

Houston Chronicle calls on O’Rourke to end White House bid, run for Senate – TheHill

Being a son of Houston Texas I grew up with the Houston Chronicle. The Houston chronicle asking Beto O’Rourke to run for Senate is one of the best things I have heard from them in a long time.

Look, just like John hickenlooper who’s about to pull out of the presidential campaign to maybe run for the Colorado senate seat hell by Republican I think it is Beto O’Rourke’s civic duty to do the same to run for that Republican seat in Texas. This time he will win with the wind in his back of a presidential election turnout. They don’t work as a Young Man and in for a years he can run for president again and he’ll have a senate seat on his resume with real foreign policy chops. I really like Beto O’Rourke. I donated heavily to his campaign when he was running against Ted Cruz also known as the Zodiac Killer. But I think it’s time for him to read the tea leaves and do what he does best and show texts that he meant it when he said he was El Paso strong.

Democrats blast Trump’s Epstein conspiracy theory retweet as Conway defends the president – TheHill

I have a simple question. Who do you think has more power? a president who has not been in office for almost 20 years or the current president of the United States?

I find it hysterical how he is tweeting about this because he knows that the spotlight is going to shine on him. it’s been documented that he attended a party with Jeffrey Epstein we’re the only two men wear them and there were 28 women and girls some of them underage. Have you ever been to a party where there’s only two men and 28 women? I’m sure there’s much more dirt that we know nothing about.

attorney general Barr was very quick yesterday and saying that he could not understand how this happened. He’s the Attorney general of the United States and this man was in his custody. Why was it taken off of suicide watch? He try to commit suicide two weeks ago and then Just five days ago they took him off of suicide watch. Was he seen by a psychologist and if so did they not realize that this man is a master manipulator? Psychologists are not magicians and they can’t see into our minds so keeping him on a suicide watch especially for such a high-value prisoner would have made sense. The Attorney-general failedand his duty and this whole investigation needs to have a separate special prosecutor one completely independent from the fake Attorney general.

Once again this White House tells us not to believe our lying eyes

Mulvaney: Not fair to lay shootings ‘at the feet of the president’ – TheHill

I hope this is not going to become a weekly thing where a spokesman for the White House comes out and says that Trump is not responsible for these shootings. Of course he’s responsible in part for these shootings. he incites these shootings. It’s why we have laws in this country against yelling fire in a movie theater. He is the match that lights the fires. He is the leader of our country, in theory, but all he cares about is getting re-elected and making sure that the people he needs to come out and vote will do so. He sees the numbers and understands that for him to pull off another victory in 2020 he needs his rabble to be on fire.

Mick Mulvaney knows better. When history is written these enablers of the president are going to be harshly remembered as those who let this man set our country on fire. I fear that Trump’s rhetoric it’s going to get worse. Trump is going to take us into what I hope will not be but I think will, a summer of riots across the country. I’m not looking forward to 2020 because it’s going to be divisive and it’s going to be ugly.
