My meanderings about politics, LGBTQ COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
I’ve been watching the show on Netflix from the BBC Called Death in Paradise, one I highly recommend, and it said something very wise and that is that paradise is where you find it. I was lucky enough to find Paradise in Los Angeles almost 18 years ago. and living in California is a very special experience. Sure we have great weather, and movie stars and all of that but it’s the people and it’s government that they choose that makes it Paradise for me.
While the Tangerine nightmare in the White House systematically tries to dismantle everything good that President Obama did there is one Bastion in the United States that is stepping up to the plate and making sure that the environment, at least in our part of the world is not destroyed by him. You can tell by the people he chooses to run the EPA that the Tangerine nightmare on how he believes that he is not the steward of our children’s future. By the way not the name I made up, Bill Maher did that, and I won’t be using his name very often on my blog anymore, so the current occupant of the White House is the Tangerine Nightmare on this blog. The first and very corrupt Scott Pruitt sued the EPA as the Attorney General of Oklahoma and had vowed to destroy it. Well while we all cheered at his demise from the administration quietly the Tangerine nightmare put in an oil and coal company lobbyist in his place. Sure he is being more respectful of the people’s money but not of our future. So I am so proud that the state of California is currently being run by Jerry Brown. And Jerry Brown our governor has decided that we are going to move on with climate change study and not let the federal government hold us back. At almost 65 years old I never thought I would be saying that the federal government would be holding back on Environmental Protections and here we are. It’s why I support and holy believe that Gavin Newsom will be our next governor so that he can carry on Governor Jerry Brown’s Legacy.
Along with the news that I’m sure you’ve already heard saying that Hillary Clinton did not meet the requirements for email storage after she left office there is something that Rachel Maddow points out. Here is how it works. For every email that the Secretary of State since she was to print it and put it in a box. For every email that the Secretary of State received she was supposed to print it and put it in a box. As you can imagine this creates a lot of paper. In this photo Rachel shows the paper produced in 3 days of emails that were received and sent by her. And she is not the Secretary of State.
If you were asked to do this at your job you would say no. And you did not have to travel to 157 countries over the course of 4 years, unless John Kerry is reading this. The state department admits that it’s system is Antiquated and has actually produced 3000 boxes of unfiled emails to and from the various Secretary of States since 1997. Now I understand that these emails are not in any way sorted. There is no index and there’s no way to search through them. The state department says that by the end of this year they will have an off-the-shelf product that will back up the emails. But until that happens this weird system which only Rachel Maddow had the journalistic Integrity to report is what has caused all these issues for Hillary Clinton. They are fabricated issues and I hope more journalists take Rachel’s lead and tells the story The Way It Is. A lot of people on television and in opinion pieces have said that Hillary Clinton has taken a blase attitude about this email situation. If I were in her shoes I would be so tired of this stupid rule of her having to print out every email she received and sent out I would to be rolling my eyes the way she does. AVB
The Republican Party are Masters at messaging. They are much better than the Democrats because we let everything show and we are transparent. This is a sign that all the Kumbaya we are hearing from the Republicans is not in fact what is simmering underneath the messaging. Donald Trump is not a popular man with a large percentage of Republicans. His economic message is anything but conservative. Even his social issues don’t match well with the Republican Party. I think as the days creep to November we will see more and more schisms that are created in the Republican Party AVB http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/washington-state-gop-convention-backs-cruz-over-trump/
This is an interesting demographic to go and try to recruit to Hillary’s campaign. They are engaged, they vote, and they care about the future for their children and Families. Donald Trump does not make you feel good about the future. His inconsistent policies and his complete lack of knowledge of how the world works is very obvious to those who are well educated. For example he thinks that if we want a more stable world we need a strong ambassador to the UN. That would be interesting except the UN has absolutely no power. Unless Donald Trump wants the US to cede its power to the general counsel something that would not be a good idea. Being a good businessman and being a good president have different skill sets. Now first of all I am not saying that Donald Trump is a good businessman. He keeps saying that he’s so successful because he has all of these shiny towers named after him. In fact many of those are just license agreements where he doesn’t own the buildings at all. Secondly the way one interacts and government and with foreign governments is completely different than the way one interacts in business. I think that we are going to turn red States blue all over the map in November. Hillary Clinton is going to be the 45th president of the United States if nothing drastic changes between now and November.
