My meanderings about politics, LGBTQ COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
It’s rare that a national news anchor quivers or shows emotion in his or her voice when on the air. The time that I remembered the best was when Matt Lauer first realize what was happening on September 11th hand how his voice changed. I was living in France at the time but when Walter Cronkite announced the death of President Kennedy you got the same emotion in the voice. Today was one of those days. Chuck Todd sounded alarmed. Look, I have not been one of his biggest fans of late but he did his job today.
Yesterday at the end of my last blog post I jokingly asked China to find the 20 minutes of missing transcript from the phone call between Trump and the president of Ukraine. Who you that Trump would ask China today, right in front of everyone to hear, 4 dirt on Joe Biden. I guess the no collusion no collusion while truck is out the window and now they’re going for the no quid pro quo. He’s colluding in plain sight.
Turns out this is a republican thing. Nixon contacted the North Vietnamese, the country we were at war with before the 1968 election and told them that if they stopped negotiating with President Johnson he would give them a better deal when he became president. At the same time the Soviet Union approached Hubert Humphrey who ran against Nixon in 1968 but Humphrey, a Democrat, went right to the FBI the way you’re supposed to act when a foreign country tries to get you to collude with them.
more cracks in the armor are appearing today. Judge Napolitano stood outside of Fox News and went through all the reasons why what Trump has done is not only impeachable but he should be removed from office, that’s on Fox News!
I had to go back to my Netflix pablum of shows because I can’t at this point watch too much of this stuff without it’s affecting me. My poor cats gets scared when I start screaming at the television like a mad men. but when you see the president of the United States betraying everything that you truly believe in it’s hard.
At the end of the day, I believe that Trump and his cohorts are Miss judging the American electorate. His use of profanity has to have an effect on moms who don’t want their kids growing up with a foul mouth. we all use profanity but he’s the president of the United States and has to be held to a higher standard. Young people are going to go out and vote this time because I really believe that they see an earth falling apart around them and they are angry at my generation and those that came before them for ruining the planet. I have hope as we all must have because without hope there’s no point and waking up the next morning.
If there’s one thing the current occupant of the White House response to is poll numbers. Fox News polls have always been favorable towards him and this must be quite a shock. You couple that with the fact that the stock market fell almost 900 points today, the stories about Mitch McConnell and Russia, the downright falling apart of our foreign policy across the world and you can see a president that’s now in a corner. usually he responds to this by making some Grand gesture which he never follows through with. My prediction is that he’s going to say that he is going to be the one to finally get some sort of law on the books to end gun violence but in the end he will say the Democrats did not agree to some odd thing that he had asked for and pulls away from the agreement.
This is been a week where you have seen him show signs of wear and tear. After not wanting to criticize the Chinese government for its atrocities on the people of Hong Kong today he said that they need to be humane to the people of Hong Kong. he picked the new fed chairman, and picked him, and today he attacked it mercilessly for not lowering interest rates. Does this man understand that interest rates are at an all-time low for an economy of this magnitude and that if it goes south the economy can only be boosted by interest rate adjustments down but if it’s at zero where do we go ? Give more money away from our Treasury?
There’s 550 days before the election so much can happen I just hope that he continues on his path of self-destruction because that’s the only way we’re going to get him out of the White House.
I have blocked Trump on Twitter. I don’t need to see his unhinged rantings. we have enough stress in our lives without having to deal with this man. If I need to send a message to him I use the @POTUS address which I hope he will lose on January 21st 2021.
Block clean up on Twitter is making everyone lose followers. They weren’t really people and it seems that this egotistical Maniac in the White House believes that he is light because Russian bots are following him. Twitter is removing these bots and slowly but surely his numbers are dwindling. plus I think that this quote from the article from quarts makes the point best:
Perhaps if this man wasn’t a raving lunatic he would keep his Twitter followers. But honestly if any other president had openly talked about the fact that he’s losing Twitter followers we were all laughing at him or her. I have yet to hear a single member of the democratic party running for president talk about their Twitter followers.
That being said, I think the NFL is inexcusable. we have turned these poor men into gladiators who for a lot of money destroy their brains and live out their lives for the most part in misery. The NFL needs to take ownership of their issues with brain injuries or it should no longer be on network television. If someone wants to pay for it then let it be on pay-per-view but advertisers should stop advertising on NFL games. They might as well be advertising on shows about child molesting.
Count me as one of the close to 4 million people that watched Rachel Maddow last night. As well as the record numbers of people that watched MSNBC all day. NBC used to have Thursday night as must see TV, well on Tuesday MSNBC was must-see TV. The Barrage of news coming out between the 1 and 2 p. M. Hour was overwhelming. Nicole Wallace and her deadline White House show had their usual cast of characters. The interesting part was that for the first time I was hearing cell phone notification sounds. That’s because the news was moving so fast that her panelists did not want to be left out in the cold. She did a great job and I am so happy for MSNBC. Perhaps they’ll bring back their moniker of Leaning forward.
Frankly, I’m happy to do poll says that it isn’t a knockout. I hope it stays this way until the election. We don’t need complacency to take over the Democratic party. We don’t need people to think that we’re going to win and they don’t need to go out and vote. Let’s face it the Republican party has made it very difficult to go vote. Where do you only country in the world that votes on a Tuesday. And countries that vote during the week have that day off. We should be voting on Saturday and Sunday, but the Republicans would hate that because it would allow people who work to be able to go out and actually vote. Sure there’s absentee ballots but those numbers never are enough to swing an election.
We need to get this Orange Madness out of the white house before he gets us into a real war. The Republicans have shown that when they feel like they’re about to lose an election they start a war, usually an unnecessary one, remember Iraq?
What a witches brew was necessary to get 45 elected. Throw in collusion by the Russians then go and spy on 15 million Americans through Facebook live through your nose about what you’re going to do once you’re in office and say you’re going to hire the best people and what you have the Trump candidacy.
And each time I hear about the dossier, please let us not forget that the dossier was originally contracted by a republican opponent of 45 in the primaries. Yes the Clinton campaign then took on the contract but never used any of the data to their detriment.
This morning I saw Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, say that Independents are flocking to Trump, if this Washington Post/ABC News poll is to be believed, that is not the case. The problem for Trump is that the next few weeks people are going to be watching the Olympics and much of the coverage on television is going to be about the Olympics. This period allows people’s feelings to cement.
Interviews at his rallies shows that even his ardent supporters are starting to ask that he become more stable. The temperament issues is a very big thing with the American people and their leader. 3 months is a long time in politics but Trump is starting to fall quicker than anyone I’ve seen before.
I will say this many times before the elections. Polls this early mean nothing. But they feel good. That’s why I call them mental masturbation. I’ll say it again polls this really means nothing. I keep getting yelled at by people who don’t read my blog post and just see the headline on Facebook.
