Rand Paul blocks Senate from approving 9/11 victim compensation fund – TheHill

I don’t wish harm on anyone. But I hope that the first responders who show up at Rand Paul’s home if it catches on fire have a long discussion as to whether or not there’s enough money in the budget to offset the cost of fighting his fire.first responders came to the World trade Center site without even a moment of hesitation about their well-being. And yet this supposed doctor doesn’t even want to give them the benefit of what they have earned in their service to our country.

Shame on Rand Paul.

Nonpartisan ethics watchdog claims Ivanka Trump has violated the Hatch Act – Salon

The problem with the United States is that we have been lulled into a sense of security by Presidents who, even those like Richard Nixon, followed ethics recommendations. The Hatch act was written into law in 1939 and basically says that anyone who is a paid member of an Administration other than the President, vice president and a couple of other people cannot use their position to promote their political views. This worked until Donald Trump. So when you have a President that brings in his daughter and son-in-law into the White House and has his campaign adviser and/or campaign pollster working in the White House one would expect that an act that has no teeth would not work. Basically the Hatch Act expected that the President would follow ethics rules. That obviously doesn’t work with this man he has not a single bit of ethics and his DNA. So it’s a useless act right now and with a person like Mitch McConnell in the Senate don’t expect it to have any teeth anytime soon. This is is sad for those seeing the headlines would seem to make people feel like something is being done but in actuality nothing can be done because it has to come from the Oval Office and he’s not going to fire or reprimand or anything his daughter, the daughter that he seems to have weird feelings for.

Oh by the way if Tiffany were in the job maybe the Hatch Act would work.

White House threatens to veto background check bills – TheHill

Threatening to veto a bill is how this corrupt White House makes sure that the turtle, Mitch McConnell doesn’t bring a bill to the floor of the Senate. Mitch McConnell’s application of the power of congress is unprecedented. basically says he won’t bring a bill to the floor of the Senate that the president is going to veto. What the hell?

As the power of the NRA wins I don’t understand the reasoning behind not wanting something that even 72% of NRA members want. We’re not talking about banning weapons. We’re not talking about taking people’s guns away. We’re talking about making sure that people who should not have guns don’t get them. Do we let everyone wants to drive a car drive a car? No. It’s common sense.

Hence the term common Sense gun control.

The blood of the 45,000 people who die each year from gun violence in our country and especially that of the children and the unarmed women is on the hands of the man in the White House and his turtle.

‘Winter is coming’: Allies fear Trump isn’t prepared for gathering legal storm – The Washington Post

For those of us who watch the Game of Thrones we know what winter is coming means. Although in the White House case it’s not going to be white walkers but it’s going to be Democrats crawling all over this white house and finding out all of those crimes that have been committed during his presidency. Look I’m the first to admit I thought that Trump did not have a chance against Hillary Clinton, and yet here we are. So this blue wave that is supposed to go across the country electing Democrats to the house and set it seems wonderful but until November 7th I won’t be pleased. We need to volunteer, donate to candidates and most importantly make sure we and all our friends go out and vote on November 6th.

Trump Jr. told Senate he didn’t recall telling father about Russian meeting – NBC News

I was a Sag-Aftra agent for many years. I have had the privilege of working with some of the best casting directors and none of them could have envisions a monthly crew like the people who surrounded Trump before and after the election.

I’ve said this on my blog before, I have seen this movie before. And the last time the Senate committee released documents about a president this damaging was during Watergate.

People are continuously asking me what I believe the endgame is going to be. I truly believe that people are going to go to jail and I don’t think that Mike Pence is going to become president. Mike Pence was in charge of the transition. He had to know what was going on. His weird Allegiance, almost cult-like, to Trump tells me that Trump knows a lot that he’s holding over Pence.

This is a white house that has no head. And I mean it has no brain. Not to have foreseen that the North Koreans were playing them is mind-boggling. Everything this white house has done before the election and since it’s been in power has been a shit show.

Fusion GPS founder told Senate investigators the FBI had a source in Trump’s network – washingtonpost.com

The GOP is fond of saying that this dossier was commissioned by the Hillary Clinton campaign. What they always fail to say was that it was first commissioned by a republican running against Donald Trump.

They refuse to let the transcripts of several witness interviews be released to the public including those of Donald Trump jr. The problem is that they have no basis for not allowing this to be released. In Watergate there was a separation of the powers that made it difficult to get papers released because they were asking for documentation from the executive branch and the legislative branch does not have power to do so as easily as it does to ask for its own documents. Once again the GOP is trying to hide the truth about the Russian collusion with the Trump campaign and the cover-up and obstruction of justice. Let’s not forget this happened during to transition and Mike Pence was in charge during the transition. So this does not stop with Donald Trump it goes throughout his campaign and White House.

Vets Crash John McCain’s Office, Ask Him To Dump Trump – The Huffington Post

John McCain, the self-described Maverick, must be having quite a hard time right now. In the face of overwhelming evidence that Donald Trump is not a friend to Veterans John McCain remain silent. When Donald Trump said he had donated millions of dollars to Veterans groups it was a lie. He only donated money wants the lie was exposed. He has attacked a gold star family. He has accepted the Purple Heart from someone and said it wasn’t that hard to get. What else must Donald Trump do to get John McCain to say enough?

Turning back on Trump, Koch network focuses on Senate – The Washington Post

All things being equal I would rather have a republican-led senate than a Donald Trump presidency. And that’s what the Koch brothers are counting on. Unfortunately for the brothers this year is an unusual year for the Senate election. There are 34 Senate seats up for election. Of the 34, 24 are Republican seats and many of those are in states where Republicans are not doing well. Maybe it was smart for Mccain not to show up at the convention now he can collect the Koch brothers money to try to reach out an election victory.

I never thought I would be relieved by something the Koch brothers say and for their own greedy reasons they are not supporting trunk. But all those millions and millions of dollars are not going to go into the feeding Hillary. And at the end of the day that’s a good thing. The Koch brothers believe that Congress will act as it has with President Obama and create a spot in 2020 for  a republican run. What they’re not taking into consideration is how Hillary Clinton reaches across the aisle and get things done.

Republicans may have just forfeited half their Senate pickup chances – The Washington Post the Washington Post

The United States Senate has 6-year terms. There are a hundred members of the Senate so every six years 34 of them are up for reelection. This is one of those years. Normally this is just one vote extra for this cycle. But this time around in 2016 out of 34 Senate seats available 10 are currently held by Democrats and 24 are held by Republicans. The Democrats need to send it back plus another 10 seats to make it filibuster-proof.

The state of Colorado is already purple. So when you get a conservative Tea Party candidate up for Statewide vote the Republicans have basically forfeited that seat to the incumbent Democrat.

Senate rejects all gun bills – POLITICO

Perhaps I am jaded, but I can’t say that I am surprised by this vote. The NRA has its fists down on the Republican Party and will not let go. Those Senators who voted against the bill don’t belong and Congress. So we’ve got to redouble our efforts to make sure that these people don’t come back to serve because they are not serving the people they are serving the special interests. This is disgusting and they all have blood on their hands from now on.
