My meanderings about politics, LGBTQ COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
Since we have a so-called billionaire currently occupying the White House I assume he’s going to pick up the bill for this wild goose chase. this is like the Benghazi thing. They pick up a bone is a bone that’s been eaten and chews on and is no longer viable but they keep chewing on it. We had seven, seven Benghazi investigations and they all came up with the same results. So now here we go looking for the as our President says “Oranges”of the investigation in Russia.
I don’t understand when someone accused of a crime publicly says it’s them why do we need to look any further? Putin gleefully in front of Trump said yes he had meddled in our elections in 2016 and he plans on doing it again in 2020. The ads from Russia on Facebook or paid for in rubles that’s the Russian currency.
I think we need an Inspector General investigation into William Barr. I think William Barr should be disbarred because he is not doing the work of the American people he’s doing the work of the current occupant of the White House. They are radicals and are dangerous and as far as close to fascist without having that moniker put on them.
The impeachment is coming and Trump knows it so he’s going to try to muddy the waters as much as possible but unfortunately for him this is clear as glass and it’s going to be a bad day for Trump when the impeachment in the house begins.
You know how they say you don’t forget important moments in your life, well I vividly remember that November morning in 2016 when I realized that Donald Trump was going to be in the white house. I was crushed. I have been crushed for almost three years now. All of my fears about this man have come true and some of them I could have never imagined. The never-ending barrage of scandals coming out of this White House it’s nauseating.
Perhaps Hillary Clinton will have the last word after all. She wrote 45 years ago when she wasn’t Hillary Clinton a memo that has become the blueprint on whether or not Congress has grounds for impeachment. It was used and Watergate then again against her husband in 1998. And now perhaps the impeachment gods will have their last laugh. Many people say that it’s a little late for Congress to impeach him but the Republicans started impeaching Bill Clinton in 1998 and it did not end until late 1999. I remembered that. Hand, honestly, it was ugly. But in this case, with Trump, it’s not about having an affair with an intern it’s about so much more. Weather his allegiance to Putin or his love of white supremacist or just his love of money and trying to make the most of it while in the White House. He is violating the Constitution domestic emoluments clause which says that the president cannot make money from his office. He gets his salary and nothing else not even gifts that come from dignitaries that are worth more than $50. Nothing but we know that he has been using his office to try to bolster his failing properties. Doral used to be a beautiful place but industry has surrounded it and its proximity to Miami International Airport makes it a nightmare to stay there. My mom and dad are buried in the cemetery that’s just outside of Doral country Club. And now he wants to make world leaders pay him to stay at his property.
I hope Hillary Clinton has the last laugh, and the majority of American people can finally take a breath.
Let’s be real here. The current occupant of the White House is so jonesing for a when he would do anything right now. He promised a deal with the Taliban last week and now he cannot deliver. It’s amazing coming from a man who said that he would never tell people ahead of time what his foreign policy moves would be. That’s all he does is tell everybody his foreign policy moves. He reveals the kind of spy satellites we have willy-nilly and he is an absolute danger to our country. And here in respect for the presidency I am mincing words.
He is unfit for office and should go back to playing with his sharpies.

If 2016 has taught us anything it is that we need to reform our system of electing officials especially those on the federal level.
Unfortunately the Federal election commission is not the vehicle we need to reform our election system. It was never meant to do anything other than to whitewash problems and make them go away. It’s a toothless agency that has minimal enforcement capabilities. So the uproar this week over the fact that they no longer have a quorum to even have a meeting seems like it could be the beginning of the end but in this case it’s the beginning of the beginning. I’ve watched the chairwoman of the federal election committee go on and on on all the text shows saying that they still have staff doing the behind the scenes work necessary to maintain election integrity. Unfortunately all of this means nothing.
let’s dissect how this Federal election commission works. First the President appoints the members from both parties. That should put a giant wait a minute in your head when I said that. Yes Trump would have to appoint a democratic member to the commission. But even if there is a fork or they have very few ways of impacting a candidate that does wrong other than through fines. They can’t overturn an election results because of malfeasance has we saw in the North Carolina examples. Only the state level was able to do anything in that case. Plus when members are appointed by a president and then have to be confirmed by the Senate you’ve got too many people whose Faith’s are on the line making the decisions on who is going to be on this commission. This whole system needs an overhaul.
We’ve always hoped that the courts would be protection for our election system. Unfortunately the courts are now being spent by Mitch McConnell and I don’t see how we are going to have affair jurisprudence system for a generation since the people than Mitch McConnell or putting in or middle-aged and have lifetime appointments. Removing a judge is difficult and because they are Judges they have the power to make things go away.
I don’t think that either the Democrats or the Republicans have the backbone to reform this broken system. The only way they would be reformed is if there is a worst-case scenario but unfortunately if there is a worst-case scenario I can’t trust that the power will still be in the hands of the people and then our country might be changed forever.
Infrequently onphone Town Hall meetings with my congressman Jimmy Gomez. Once I had the opportunity to ask him a question about funding for California. he told me that the republicans in Congress have a saying, ABC, anybody but California. So the largest state in the Union by population is systematically being ignored by the federal government.
Now the supposed leader of our country is going to two states that he needs to win re-election but is skipping over coming to Gilroy California after the equally horrific shooting there. I read that two of the survivors of the Gilroy massacre we’re also survivors of the Las Vegas one. They met on a Facebook support group for survivors of mass shootings. It’s amazing that we have to have Facebook groups for survivors of mass shootings. So once again Trump ignores California. He’s quite happy to come here to suck money out of his Republican billionaires but to help the state and anyway, no. although I have to say that he did say that we should be raking the forest so that we would not have any more forest fires. Helpful information like that is his Hallmark.
You’re either the president of everyone oh you’re not a legitimate president. To me Trump is not a legitimate president I like he’s a racist, xenophobe and a white nationalist. This is in a country that is becoming more and more a rainbow of wonderful humans.
I feel for those who have played by the rules followed every edict of the Department of education so that there student loans would be forgiven. They have to pay 120 monthly payments in a row on time. They have to work for the government or some nonprofit and then and only then can they apply for forgiveness. It’s the law and yet only 1%, and these are numbers from the Department of education, of those who apply get approved. It turns out it’s all about your acratic nightmares that they have to endure. The Department of education doesn’t seem to understand that we have computers now and they require the applicants to continuously update with where they are working. Can they not just link the IRS computers to the Department of education computers so that the job history is right there but instead know they make it more difficult.
The dumbing-down of America is a Republican goal witch they are succeeding at. The more uneducated the individual the more likely they are to believe what’s on the cover of the national enquirer as they check out each time they go shopping. I really didn’t believe that people actually took that stuff seriously. I had an IHSS worker who was my provider he was an actor and it’s late 50s and each time we walked by the check out he would say to me you see Hillary Clinton is this or Hillary Clinton is that.
Education is important but the Republicans don’t want the citizenry to have it.
I want to remind the much-maligned Main Stream Mediathat we the voters of the United States of America are their customers. Whatever happened to follow-up questions? it hurts me so much when I used to watch, I no longer watch it, meet the Press or any other of the talk shows in the morning and a question is asked it’s sidestepped and no follow-up is given. I understand that these politicians are blackmail in a way reporters by telling them that they’re not going to give them access if they ask hard questions. excuse me, the politicians need the media just as much as the media needs the politicians. If the mainstream media wants to keep us on their side they need to get a backbone something that seems to have slipped out of their collective bodies on January 21st 2017.
as far as Margaret Chao and Mitch McConnell’s answer or lack of one somebody needs to press him on this question. She came here immigrant not like three of the members of Congress that president asshole in the White House set to go back to their countries. He said that she came as an eight-year-old and learn the language. He forgot to mention that her family owns shipping companies in China and are multi-millionaires if not billionaires. oh poor Margaret Chao she came here as an 8 year old have to learn the language. My parents moved me to France when I was seven I learned the language, move back here when I was 12 didn’t speak a word of English and I learned a language oh me then?
Trump is a racist, Mitch McConnell is a racist and his wife should understand that but money in a republican household seem to matter more than their beliefs. I’m sorry I’ve come to understand that Republicans care more about money than anything else. I watched the former congressman from South Carolina say that he did not want to talk about Trump’s racism but rather about the fact that the budget was ballooning. When Chris Hayes asked him if he did not believe that when a Republican president was out of office and a Democrat was in the Republicans will start becoming fiscal Hawks he refused to answer. This is the same Mark Sanford that…
From June 18 until June 24, 2009, the whereabouts of Sanford were unknown to the public, his wife and the State Law Enforcement Division, which provides security for all South Carolina governors, garnering nationwide news coverage. The absence of Governor Sanford was first reported byJim Davenportof theAssociated Press.Lieutenant GovernorAndré Bauerannounced that he could not “take lightly that his staff has not had communication with him for more than four days, and that no one, including his own family, knows his whereabouts.”
Before his disappearance, Sanford told his staff that he would be hiking on theAppalachian Trailand while he was gone he did not answer 15 cell phone calls from his chief of staff, Scott English; he also failed to call his family on Father’s Day.
I read what the historians say in the article and I find it preposterous. Basically they claim that MD 18th and 19th century there were confirmed bachelors who had sexual relationships with men but the historians say they were not gay! I think we’re dealing with semantics here because the word gay came out after Stonewall but homosexuality, pansies and the other slurs that were used in those time periods were aimed specifically at the people we now call gay.
Mayor Pete says that the odds are we had a gay president in the past. We’ve had 45 presidents and approximately 4.5% of the population identify themselves as gay. You do the math.
Historians like history to stay etched in stone and so therefore I think that they may be close-minded to what is a pretty obvious tell in a couple of our presidents intimate lives. I’m not going to be here outing any president and nor did mayor Pete, I think it was the historians who did it in the article.
The problem with the United States is that we have been lulled into a sense of security by Presidents who, even those like Richard Nixon, followed ethics recommendations. The Hatch act was written into law in 1939 and basically says that anyone who is a paid member of an Administration other than the President, vice president and a couple of other people cannot use their position to promote their political views. This worked until Donald Trump. So when you have a President that brings in his daughter and son-in-law into the White House and has his campaign adviser and/or campaign pollster working in the White House one would expect that an act that has no teeth would not work. Basically the Hatch Act expected that the President would follow ethics rules. That obviously doesn’t work with this man he has not a single bit of ethics and his DNA. So it’s a useless act right now and with a person like Mitch McConnell in the Senate don’t expect it to have any teeth anytime soon. This is is sad for those seeing the headlines would seem to make people feel like something is being done but in actuality nothing can be done because it has to come from the Oval Office and he’s not going to fire or reprimand or anything his daughter, the daughter that he seems to have weird feelings for.
Oh by the way if Tiffany were in the job maybe the Hatch Act would work.
Whatever you want to call it, the president’s faculties are starting to look suspicious. He calls his National Security advisor John Bolton Michael Bolton, he missed writes his own wife’s name and calls her Melanie, he couldn’t even remember his chief of staff’s name General John Kelly. So calling the CEO of Apple whose name is pretty well known by everyone in the world Tim Apple is not just insulting but disturbing.
