Facebook’s startling new ambition is to shrink – The Verge

Last November I decided it was time to cut the cord with Facebook. Believe it or not I had extra time on my hands so I started walking around my neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles which then led to my going to the gym which then led to me watching what I ate. Well since November I have gone from 224 pounds to 190 today. I am bench pressing as much as I did when I was in my 30s and I am 63. I can’t say that leaving Facebook was the only reason but it was a beginning.

I think I’m not the only one who has decided that Facebook was not a place they wanted to frequent anymore. I have posted the article that I wrote on my blog when I left Facebook and deactivated my account on Twitter and it has been accessed a lot. I’m not sure if I’m going to go back to Facebook now that they’ve had this new revelation. I fear if I go back now they will just go back to their old ways. Hey, I’m not saying that I individually was the cost for this change in there trying to reach people through their social media platform. But just like cable companies are adjusting to people cutting the cord I think Facebook started noticing that people were deactivating their account.

Just in case you want to deactivate your account be ready for an onslaught of Facebook guilt. They will show you pictures of your friends that you are so called leaving behind. I reached out to all of those friends of mine who are on Facebook and told him that I wasn’t going to be there anymore but it didn’t mean that I did not want to stay in touch. Some have stayed in touch and some have not but that’s the price you have to pay to be confident in who are really your friends.

I’m not saying you’ll lose 35 lb but I know that you’ll have a lot more valuable time on your hands is if Facebook is not in your life. Spend that time with friends and family in the real world and I promise you you’ll be a happier person.

New Washington DC hotel hurting because of Trump name on it

Could not happen to a nicer guy. With all the talk about Trump’s successful businesses one has to think about the damage he’s creating to his brand. I know that conventions are going to be less controversial if booked at a different Hotel. His name is now synonymous with a disdain for Mexicans, Muslims, and a whole slew of other people including the disabled. So, let’s talk about the blind trust that he plans to put his Holdings into if he becomes president. I don’t believe he understands what a blind trust is although his speech when he announced it did seem to be hedging whether or not it was really a blind trust when your sons and daughter control it. A blind trust is where you put your Holdings somewhere where you have absolutely no idea of what’s going on Within them. It’s almost impossible for him to put his Holdings into a blind trust. He would need to sell them. And you know Trump ego won’t allow the names Trump to come off of all of those buildings. He’s making deals with dictators all over the world and you think that that’s not going to have some sort of impact on our foreign policy? Of course it will and all of the self-restraint that Ivanka claims she will yield will be overwritten by her too ass like brothers.

So I hope that if you or your company or your industry is planning and Convention that you make it quite clear that you don’t want to stay at a Trump Hotel.

The Trump International Hotel will begin serving guests Monday. There won’t be any fanfare around the opening, which is known as a “soft opening.” Grand-opening ceremonies are being planned for October. Rachel Maddow: New campaign hire puts Trump at odds with RNC – MSNBC

Once again a great show. One of the funny parts of this show was the fact that Donald Trump has appointed as his co-chair for the Jefferson County Colorado area, which includes Denver suburbs, a 12 year old boy. It turns out that Donald Trump saw this young man at one of his rallies and just had to have him. Yes, the kids for Trump of Jefferson County chairman is now the co-chair of the Jefferson County Colorado Trump for president campaign. A 12 year old boy.

The new hire that is spoken about in thoe title of this piece is the new CEO of the Trump campaign formerly from breitbart.com. it seems that he has made it a career of removing from office Republican hierarchy. He was instrumental in getting rid of Eric Cantor, John Boehner and tried to get rid of, in a very failed, attempt Paul Ryan. This would not be news if it were not for the fact that Donald Trump has repeatedly said that he’s going to let the RNC run his campaign. This is the author of The Art of the deal and he brings in an anti-establishment figure like the former founder of breitbart.com? It’s not the way deals are usually made. You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. If this is the way Donald Trump plans to run the country I don’t want him anywhere near the White House. His campaign is a mess. His campaign is a joke. But campaigns in America play a more important role than in most countries. In fact campaigns have become a giant interview by the people for the gentleman or lady running for president. And Donald Trump is failing that interview terribly and it shows in the polls. I don’t see what vested interest the RNC has in getting Donald Trump to be president. Weirdly the RNC has raised less money than the Democrats this last month. During presidential campaigns is when the RNC feels his coffers with money. It’s not happening this year and it’s not happening because of Donald Trump.

The new Post-ABC poll shows just how badly Donald Trump blew his convention – The Washington Post

This morning I saw Paul Manafort, Trump’s campaign chairman, say that Independents are flocking to Trump, if this Washington Post/ABC News poll is to be believed, that is not the case. The problem for Trump is that the next few weeks people are going to be watching the Olympics and much of the coverage on television is going to be about the Olympics. This period allows people’s feelings to cement.

Interviews at his rallies shows that even his ardent supporters are starting to ask that he become more stable. The temperament issues is a very big thing with the American people and their leader. 3 months is a long time in politics but Trump is starting to fall quicker than anyone I’ve seen before.

Rachel Maddow: Trump’s hidden tax returns take on new significance – MSNBC

Could it be that President Putin hurt Donald Trump by releasing the DNC emails? That’s what’s going around the news media. Rachel brings up a very good point that the news media is going to put a lot more pressure on Trump to prove that he doesn’t have ties with Russia. His tax returns could be a major point of contention with the American people. I know a lot of people believe that presidential candidates have been releasing their tax returns for ever. Actually the first one who did was Richard Nixon in his reelection. He did so under a lot of pressure and he started what has become accustomed but not a rule. The irony is that one of the major critics of Romney not wanting to release his tax returns was Donald Trump in 2012. Trump said not releasing his tax returns made Mitt Romney unsuitable for the presidency. And now the shoe is on the other foot. And is the shoe made in Russia? The American people have inquiring minds and they want an answer. I Believe In The End Donald Trump will release his tax returns and they will show him not to be as wealthy as he wants everyone to believe. Other smoking guns would be great but I’m not very hopeful.

Nothing seems to hurt this man. I heard several speakers at the Republican National Convention still say that he is still self funding. That’s a lie. So unless we have an email from hymn to Putin asking for them too look at the DNC servers I don’t think anything will stick. The Democrats need to win with hope and a Future that are children can believe in.

Still trying to show as little of Donald Trump in my posts as possible

New Trump aide deletes #SleazyDonald tweets – CNN

Donald Trump is no longer in charge of his campaign. He must be miserable or just so power-hungry that he is willing to bring into his fold people that have insulted him over and over again like Jason Miller. In either case the trust cannot be very strong between these people. I like the moniker of sleazy Donald and may start using it myself.

Donald Trump’s morals are bankrupt and in the end it will be his undoing.

In new poll, support for Trump has plunged, giving Clinton a double-digit lead – Google News

Most pollsters will tell you that polls this early are basically an intellectual exercise and are meaningless. But when a poll asks about qualifications that’s a whole other story. Donald Trump can be scripted all the way to the debates and then, I think, his personality will make the scripts go out the window. Have you noticed he’s not going on the morning talk shows anymore? You can’t be scripted with a teleprompter in front of you when you’re asked the questions. Donald Trump doesn’t understand talking points and I hope he never does.

The ‘new Trump’ is a no-show – The Washington Post

The author of this article believes that this is as presidential Donald Trump is going to be. He makes a good point, how many 69 year olds change the way they have behaved for the last 45 years? I also have my opinion that just like one gets used to chronic pain to a point but one really never stops feeling it. So when I hear the news media and their political Talking Heads say that his supporters are loyal and will stick with him, I agree. But here’s how this all becomes difficult path to the presidency for the Donald. The Republican party is about a third of the population but I don’t think that they’re all going to go out and vote for him. And Independence who say they’re going to go out and vote for him are not that great and numbers. I know we’re going to go through Cycles where they bolster Trump and knock down Hillary. Then they’ll be bolstering stirring Hillary and knocking down Trump. This is corporate news needing to feed the beast. And when I hear that we need to fix citizens united I think we also need to look at how make sure that corporate profits are not what dictates what’s in the media. Journalism is called the fourth estate for a reason. We need to bring it back to where it was. Butt the first amendment has to be protected as well so this is going to be quite a balancing act that I am not sure we can pull off.

The cropping of this photo is quite deliberate. He's a half-assed man who deserves only half a picture.

Exclusive sneak peek at new anti-Trump ads | MSNBC

Rachel does it again. This ad blew my mind while I was watching it on her show and wanted to make sure that as many people could see it before it goes on the air on Wednesday morning. There’s one that’s pretty conventional and there’s one that is completely unconventional and I think it will hit home and hit home early. Priorities USA the pro Hillary is planning to spend 141 million dollars between now and the election running ads like this.
