My meanderings about politics, LGBTQ COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
When the history of our country is written in 50 years, if there is a country like we know right now, historians will talk about how Mitch McConnell almost destroyed our democracy. In the other scenario, there will be no historians, and for that you can thank Mitch McConnell.
Mitch McConnell doesn’t like being called Moscow match. Mitch McConnell should stop being such a vile creature the kind of politician that everyone despises even those on his own side. I hope the people of Kentucky will select a different Senator but I’m not very hopeful, it is Kentucky.
Mitch McConnell is the kind of politician that makes those who know nothing about politics hate politics. Politics has gotten dirty name in our country and you can thank Mitch McConnell for much of that. His refusal to even bring Merrick Garland supreme Court nomination to vote was despicable. What what is more despicable is the fact that his so-called McConnell Rule doesn’t apply when there’s a republican in the oval Office.
In the first 90 seconds before his normal show John Oliver set everything that needed to be said about what’s happening right now.
When I said on Twitter. The current occupant of the White House has blood on his hands I was locked out of my Twitter account for 12 hours. They call it Twitter jail I call it completely unfair. when Trump rants and rails on his Twitter account spewing hatred and racist views no one puts them in Twitter jail.
Is John Oliver I posted what he said tonight I guess if he were not a celebrity he would also be put away in Twitter jail.
There’s a disease in this country and there is no two ways around it. Even senator Pat Toomey asked that Mitch McConnell bring back the Senate to vote on common Sense gun reform. Then Mitch McConnell broke or injured his shoulder. I would like to see those x-rays.
Wawa on hiatus from Twitter although I’m not on there all that much, I watched the latest episode of elementary on CBS. Their story line right now is about someone who owns the biggest search engine who uses his data to look for those who might kill and preemptively kills them before they get a chance to do so. When Sherlock tries stop himhe’s confronted with the fact that this man is so powerful because he controls how the people of the world think of their politicians. Sound like anyone you might have heard of maybe somebody like Mark Zuckerberg or the now very cozy with the oval Office CEO of Twitter Dorsey.
I’m famously no longer on Facebook, Instagram and I had all intentions of leaving Twitter. I still might but then who would read this blog other than myself and that I consider that mental masturbation.
Since this is a place I can say what I feel well I truly believe that Trump, the GOP and the NRA have the hundreds of people’s blood on their hands that have died in mass shootings, all 291 so far this year.
Over the last 30 months Trump has transformed himself in the eyes of many of his supporters from a billionaire crusader for there interest to a politician. And that may be his downfall.
The word politician has become a dirty word to those who voted for Trump hoping for some change. Has the jobs that were promised in the Auto industry and the mines are disappearing under his watch this politician thing is going to go viral.
Watch the news report yesterday about a town in Wyoming that relies on mining, coal mining. The mine had been bought and sold and bought and sold IDs vulture investors. two town of 30,000 people and yesterday 600 of them lost their jobs. The trickle-down effect of 600 people losing their jobs in such a small town is devastating.
Beyond the fact that Mitch McConnell has did one of the main architects of disruption in the Congress. The architect of the Giants tax break for the very rich. The architect of not allowing for election fraud funding he’s also not doing anything for those people that thought he was their champion in Kentucky.
I have been wrong before about Trump and the Republicans. I don’t understand how people can vote against their interest and yet they do over and over again. but I hope that this time around I’m correct.
When the late John McCain was running against President Obama a woman in the audience asked him if President Obama was a Muslim and whether or not he had not been born in this country, John McCain rightfully said no ma’am he is not a Muslim he is a good Christian I don’t agree with all of his use but he’s a good man.
last night Trump lead the cheers of send her back. He started it in a tweet saying to send back people who are born in this country and are naturalized citizens. so his trying to disavow what happened last night is very much what a dictator would do or a character in 1984. Don’t believe your lying eyes is what they’re telling us.
My favorite was when Mitch McConnell was asked about his wife and he ignored the questionof how he would feel if someone would tell his wife to go back to Taiwan as she is also a naturalized citizen. He completely went the other way and said basically her Wikipedia page.
Republicans lie for a living. It’s the only way they win it’s by cheating. They turned John Kerry from a war hero to the Swift boat person that everybody now thinks of. They tried hard 2 bring down President Obama but they could not. Unfortunately the lies they told about Hillary Clinton stuck. it’s funny how the Clinton foundation did good and there is never been a single whisper that money went into other people’s pockets. On the other hand Eric Trump is being charged with stealing money from a non-profit cancer organization!
Believe your eyes and believe your ears and don’t let this avalanche of misinformation distract you, our democracy depends on it.
I don’t wish harm on anyone. But I hope that the first responders who show up at Rand Paul’s home if it catches on fire have a long discussion as to whether or not there’s enough money in the budget to offset the cost of fighting his fire.first responders came to the World trade Center site without even a moment of hesitation about their well-being. And yet this supposed doctor doesn’t even want to give them the benefit of what they have earned in their service to our country.
Have you ever bought something once you got home you realized you had been conned? Buyer’s remorse? I guess that’s what a lot of people who for some reason had a weird dislike for Hillary Clinton are feeling after two-and-a-half years of this presidency.
What’s surprising is the number of people willing to say this in public. MSNBC is littered with people including some of their anchors who were Republicans that I yelled at while they served under different in administrations who are now either Independents or straight up Democrats. I don’t think it’s just Trump. I think if you throw into the mix Mitch McConnell and the hypocrisy of a lot of leaders in Congress like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz you see why people are having their come to Jesus moment.
Trump is a con man. What’s so funnythe word con man that Trump hates so much is becoming synonymous with him on Google searches. Good for yourself, do Trump con man as a search and see what happens.
Today Trump pulled back from the brink of war with Iran. I think he finally realized that he has calmed himself into the presidency and I don’t think he wants that job anymore. Maybe that’s why he is making so many errors including all of these undisciplined interviews across what he called fake news media networks.
Is the Republican party Doom to be on the junk pile of History? Can’t say that. Americans have very short memories case in point is how they are looking with nostalgia upon George HW Bush and his presidency even though he took us into an unnecessary war and was the cause of a near world depression. You put him next to Trump and he looks great.
I’m hoping that this man is not re-elected but until I watch him leave the White House I won’t believe anything about what people are prognosticating.
The problem with the United States is that we have been lulled into a sense of security by Presidents who, even those like Richard Nixon, followed ethics recommendations. The Hatch act was written into law in 1939 and basically says that anyone who is a paid member of an Administration other than the President, vice president and a couple of other people cannot use their position to promote their political views. This worked until Donald Trump. So when you have a President that brings in his daughter and son-in-law into the White House and has his campaign adviser and/or campaign pollster working in the White House one would expect that an act that has no teeth would not work. Basically the Hatch Act expected that the President would follow ethics rules. That obviously doesn’t work with this man he has not a single bit of ethics and his DNA. So it’s a useless act right now and with a person like Mitch McConnell in the Senate don’t expect it to have any teeth anytime soon. This is is sad for those seeing the headlines would seem to make people feel like something is being done but in actuality nothing can be done because it has to come from the Oval Office and he’s not going to fire or reprimand or anything his daughter, the daughter that he seems to have weird feelings for.
Oh by the way if Tiffany were in the job maybe the Hatch Act would work.
I’ve been communicating with one of my best friends today telling him that it’s becoming someone disheartening to see this President and his actions. He’s out there in the open, figuratively shooting someone on 5th Avenue.
What is more upsetting to me take the fact of the Republican Party anyway it’s leaders, say they’re okay with it. I keep thinking of this scenario. Let’s say, Norway, comes up to Joe Biden and says “Hey we’ve got information on Donald Trump, want it? All things being equal other than having a body buried somewhere in the White House this President seems to be immune from bad information about him. But in the future, hopefully we’ll have another president whose last name is not Trump, I wonder how the Republicans defending this President and his words yesterday would feel?
I’ve been a lifelong Democrat but there has been Republicans that I have admired. But when Mitch McConnell if his swarthy face says that if one of theSupreme Court justices passes away next year would he replaced at Justice unlike what he did was Merrick Garland, he says yes. So as far as I’m concerned the Republican party or the party of trump is morally bankrupt and yes we need a conservative voice but one that respect the laws of our country and are not blatant hypocrites.
Until I am proven wrong, I feel very pessimistic about the future of our country and especially the democracy our forefathers envisioned us for us. I pray to the universe that I am wrong
Threatening to veto a bill is how this corrupt White House makes sure that the turtle, Mitch McConnell doesn’t bring a bill to the floor of the Senate. Mitch McConnell’s application of the power of congress is unprecedented. basically says he won’t bring a bill to the floor of the Senate that the president is going to veto. What the hell?
As the power of the NRA wins I don’t understand the reasoning behind not wanting something that even 72% of NRA members want. We’re not talking about banning weapons. We’re not talking about taking people’s guns away. We’re talking about making sure that people who should not have guns don’t get them. Do we let everyone wants to drive a car drive a car? No. It’s common sense.
Hence the term common Sense gun control.
The blood of the 45,000 people who die each year from gun violence in our country and especially that of the children and the unarmed women is on the hands of the man in the White House and his turtle.
The more I hear him speak the more I like him. I have made itclear on this blog that I find him an appealing candidate. Look he’s got the chops. Served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, a Rhodes scholar which is a difficult thing to do and was one of Bill Clinton’s achievements, and he’s gay and married to a husband. I’m gay makes me proud to have someone who’s actually being talked about running for president. My friend Fred Kargar ran for president in 2016. He did not get as noticed as mayor Pete is right now.
I’ve donated to this campaign but I’ve also donated to comella Harris his campaign. I think that would make a great ticket. Is America ready for a gay president? was America ready for a black one? And yet he was re-elected twice. I don’t think that’s the issue. He’s young but he runs a city that has a 385 million dollar budget and 1000 employees. How many senators have had that experience over the last 8 years? As a matter of fact does the person that’s currently residing in the White House have this kind of experience, no, and it shows.
Republicans should love him, they are the ones who have been packing the courts for the last 40 years with their activist judges. remember how they used to talk about Democratic activist judges and how they no longer say that word anymore because they’re the ones doing it?
I wish Mayor Pete all of the best luck on his runand look forward to seeing him on the debate stage. If you get a chance go to his sight and donate some money. His site is:
