It’s OK to leave Facebook – TechCrunch

Yes, this is my second blog post in a row about Facebook. And what this article says makes so much sense. Basically he says that one should think about Facebook like a car. I have a car, I don’t commute to work but use the car occasionally. Some people have a car and they needed to commute to work everyday and use it all the time. Facebook is the car. Use it when you need it but don’t rely upon it all the time unless you desperately need it.

He suggests deleting Facebook from your phone as opposed to deleting your Facebook account. I deleted my Facebook account but I’m one of those people that doesn’t like incremental steps. Deleting Facebook from your phone just means that you’ll have to access Facebook from a laptop which would limit your FaceTime on Facebook and that would be good for you. I actually talk to my friends now as opposed to just interacting over the internet. And my friendships have gotten stronger from it. I hope you will at least delete Facebook from your phone and at the end of the day if you’re not happier, just put it back on your phone and everything will go back the way it was.

BBC: In stunning decision, Britain votes to leave the EU

Some will say that a storm over London kept the pro EU londoners away from the polls. Whatever the reason for this vote it’s going to have the ramifications. Prime Minister David Cameron may need to resign. Tomorrow the markets are going to be a mess. It will most likely throw Europe into a deep recession. And why has it come to this?
I’m sure you’ll remember that in school we were taught that a nation state is defined by its abilities to Define and defend its borders and get it printed its own currency. When you’re up try to make themselves into USA 2.0 and created the Eurozone I forgot those basic tenets of what defines our country. How can you have the central bank not having the same politics has the government of a country? Because in fact the central bank was the euro but each country and the Eurozone has its own political character and makeup. Then you lift borders and allow free movement from country to Country and you’re left with what is now Europe. The United States works because we all share one language, we all share one government, hand we all share one currency. We are one country with 50 separate districts or States. The Architects of the Euro Zone did not calculate all that was going into their creation.
So now England and the United Kingdom has left the Eurozone and what happens next is very dim.

‘It was just chaos’: Broken machines, incomplete voter rolls leave some wondering whether their ballots will count – LA Times

I wrote about my own experiences voting yesterday in the California primary. I received a lot of blow back from what I had written. One person actually wrote that what I wrote was BS. I kind of feel Vindicated by the story in the Los Angeles Times. It was a mess for me and my neighbors who voted in our Precinct. It seems that for some reason there was some computer glitch that made us all mail-in only voters. I had to vote provisionally, the first time I’ve ever voted that way.
As some of you may know I ran unsuccessfully for neighborhood Council. Two close friends of mine called me the day after the election to tell me they had just received their credentials. They emailed me the notification from the Department of Elections of Los Angeles County. I’m working with others to put a plan together to present to Los Angeles County because this cannot go on.

Changing superdelegate rules would still leave Sanders behind – CNN

If you’re a loser on the Republican side you’re mad about winner-take-all primaries. If you’re a loser on the Democratic side you’re mad about super delegates. It’s that simple they are losers. Bernie Sanders has been an independent and not part of the democratic establishment. His supporters are young and don’t understand the rules that politics are run by. They may not like them but they are the rules. We have a two party system and it’s going to stay like that unless there is some giant sea change.
So they have a choice of sitting in the corner and crying and letting Donald Trump win the White House or they can stand up and vote for the person that would do the best to ensure that those principles that Bernie Sanders stance for are brought to the Forefront and that’s Hillary Clinton.
