Sen. John Barrasso throws cold water on new gun legislation – POLITICO

Let’s get one important fact out of the way right off the bat:

Just 2 percent of Barrasso’s 2017 fundraising is Wyoming-based

and if you look deeper you’ll see that he is absolutely not allergic to getting dark money, money from packs that don’t tell anyone where this money is coming from. You can thank citizens united for his still remaining in the Senate.

I love how he talks about how a red flag law could hurt law-abiding citizens. DUI laws are exactly the same thing. no one would even consider saying that the DUI laws hurt law-abiding citizens but when your money comes from the gun lobby you will say anything even if it comes out of your ass.

And what hurts me the most is that he only represents a little over a quarter million people when Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris of California each represent a little bit over 20 million people. Taxation without equal representation anybody?

Until we clean the slate in the House and Senate of Republicans that refused to abide by the will of the people and I am talking about 80 to 90% of the American people including 72% of Republicans at the last poll who are looking for and are demanding common Sense gun control.

Enough is enough

John Oliver Delivers Emotional Plea to Trump and America in Wake of Dayton and El Paso Mass Shootings – The Daily Beast

In the first 90 seconds before his normal show John Oliver set everything that needed to be said about what’s happening right now.

When I said on Twitter. The current occupant of the White House has blood on his hands I was locked out of my Twitter account for 12 hours. They call it Twitter jail I call it completely unfair. when Trump rants and rails on his Twitter account spewing hatred and racist views no one puts them in Twitter jail.

Is John Oliver I posted what he said tonight I guess if he were not a celebrity he would also be put away in Twitter jail.

There’s a disease in this country and there is no two ways around it. Even senator Pat Toomey asked that Mitch McConnell bring back the Senate to vote on common Sense gun reform. Then Mitch McConnell broke or injured his shoulder. I would like to see those x-rays.

Wawa on hiatus from Twitter although I’m not on there all that much, I watched the latest episode of elementary on CBS. Their story line right now is about someone who owns the biggest search engine who uses his data to look for those who might kill and preemptively kills them before they get a chance to do so. When Sherlock tries stop himhe’s confronted with the fact that this man is so powerful because he controls how the people of the world think of their politicians. Sound like anyone you might have heard of maybe somebody like Mark Zuckerberg or the now very cozy with the oval Office CEO of Twitter Dorsey.

I’m famously no longer on Facebook, Instagram and I had all intentions of leaving Twitter. I still might but then who would read this blog other than myself and that I consider that mental masturbation.

Since this is a place I can say what I feel well I truly believe that Trump, the GOP and the NRA have the hundreds of people’s blood on their hands that have died in mass shootings, all 291 so far this year.

Mulvaney: Not fair to lay shootings ‘at the feet of the president’ – TheHill

I hope this is not going to become a weekly thing where a spokesman for the White House comes out and says that Trump is not responsible for these shootings. Of course he’s responsible in part for these shootings. he incites these shootings. It’s why we have laws in this country against yelling fire in a movie theater. He is the match that lights the fires. He is the leader of our country, in theory, but all he cares about is getting re-elected and making sure that the people he needs to come out and vote will do so. He sees the numbers and understands that for him to pull off another victory in 2020 he needs his rabble to be on fire.

Mick Mulvaney knows better. When history is written these enablers of the president are going to be harshly remembered as those who let this man set our country on fire. I fear that Trump’s rhetoric it’s going to get worse. Trump is going to take us into what I hope will not be but I think will, a summer of riots across the country. I’m not looking forward to 2020 because it’s going to be divisive and it’s going to be ugly.

Three NRA board members resign from organization – TheHill

The NRA is a terrorist organization. Therefore it’s for members are terrorists so those who are resigning as far as I’m concerned are nothing but rats jumping off of the sinking NRA ship.

They have sucked every bit of money out of their membership and now they are fleeing like vermin. this was the first time that after a mass shooting Wayne LaPierre did not come out from his crypt to tell us that it’s not time for gun control or common sense gun reform. It’s never time for them because they live off of blood money.

anyone who supports the NRA is a terrorist including the current occupant of the White House who seem to be quite mom about the fact that his rhetoric caused another mass shooting. If it had been a Muslim or person of color he would have been on his Twitter soapbox screaming away but instead he kept quiet.

the sooner the NRA disappears the better this country will be. All I’m sure there will be some other organization that will take its place because there is always somebody out to make another dollar off of the blood of individuals but it’s going to be rebuilding itself from the ground up and hopefully we will have the gumption, as Americans, to finally do what New Zealand, Australia and the rest of the Free World has done; make sure that guns stay out of the hands of people who should not have them.

Ex-Trump Supporter: I Was ‘Really An Idiot’ to Think He’d Be a Good President – Newsweek

Have you ever bought something once you got home you realized you had been conned? Buyer’s remorse? I guess that’s what a lot of people who for some reason had a weird dislike for Hillary Clinton are feeling after two-and-a-half years of this presidency.

What’s surprising is the number of people willing to say this in public. MSNBC is littered with people including some of their anchors who were Republicans that I yelled at while they served under different in administrations who are now either Independents or straight up Democrats. I don’t think it’s just Trump. I think if you throw into the mix Mitch McConnell and the hypocrisy of a lot of leaders in Congress like Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz you see why people are having their come to Jesus moment.

Trump is a con man. What’s so funnythe word con man that Trump hates so much is becoming synonymous with him on Google searches. Good for yourself, do Trump con man as a search and see what happens.

Today Trump pulled back from the brink of war with Iran. I think he finally realized that he has calmed himself into the presidency and I don’t think he wants that job anymore. Maybe that’s why he is making so many errors including all of these undisciplined interviews across what he called fake news media networks.

Is the Republican party Doom to be on the junk pile of History? Can’t say that. Americans have very short memories case in point is how they are looking with nostalgia upon George HW Bush and his presidency even though he took us into an unnecessary war and was the cause of a near world depression. You put him next to Trump and he looks great.

I’m hoping that this man is not re-elected but until I watch him leave the White House I won’t believe anything about what people are prognosticating.

Nonpartisan ethics watchdog claims Ivanka Trump has violated the Hatch Act – Salon

The problem with the United States is that we have been lulled into a sense of security by Presidents who, even those like Richard Nixon, followed ethics recommendations. The Hatch act was written into law in 1939 and basically says that anyone who is a paid member of an Administration other than the President, vice president and a couple of other people cannot use their position to promote their political views. This worked until Donald Trump. So when you have a President that brings in his daughter and son-in-law into the White House and has his campaign adviser and/or campaign pollster working in the White House one would expect that an act that has no teeth would not work. Basically the Hatch Act expected that the President would follow ethics rules. That obviously doesn’t work with this man he has not a single bit of ethics and his DNA. So it’s a useless act right now and with a person like Mitch McConnell in the Senate don’t expect it to have any teeth anytime soon. This is is sad for those seeing the headlines would seem to make people feel like something is being done but in actuality nothing can be done because it has to come from the Oval Office and he’s not going to fire or reprimand or anything his daughter, the daughter that he seems to have weird feelings for.

Oh by the way if Tiffany were in the job maybe the Hatch Act would work.

{OUCH} Trump to Hannity: You’re ‘Not Really’ a Patriot, You Just Want ‘Great Ratings’ – The Daily Beast

Words between one showman to another. Honestly Hannity is not a reporter and Trump is not really a President. Did you see how Trump had the ABC crew we retake his answer when his chief of staff Mulvaney started coughing? I’m getting tired of saying this but can you imagine if President Obama have done that?

I feel like we’re living in The Truman Show. Each day we’re asailed by one scandal after another. Today we find out that the nominee to be the Secretary of Defense hid that his son beat his ex-wife with a bat from the FBI and the Senate. We have a potential nominee to be the UN ambassador who as ambassador to Canada was at her home in the United States more than in Canada. It just doesn’t stop and it’s getting very tiresome. I don’t know how this country is going to recover from this nightmare. Steve Bannon wanted to destroy our government, he’s planted the seeds to do that. I worry that this fake president will not leave office if he loses he said so. He also said that he would not leave if he was impeached although I don’t think he understands what a piece of it is. Honestly I don’t think he understands impeachment for the life of him. For stable genius he’s quite an idiot and a moron, not my words those words came from his former Secretary of State and his former Chief of Staff.

We are living in an acting presidency. The word acting is in front of most of the members of his cabinet. And those who don’t have acting in front of their name are under investigation for one impropriety or another.

And the Republicans do nothing.

Shame on them. Saying you are and being a patriot or so different.

Who Is Justin Amash And Why Is He Willing To Go Against His Own Party? – NPR

As far as I can see Justin Amash is a patriot.

I love the backstory in this article from NPR. His parents are both immigrants from the Middle East. I guess Trump would call them Shit-hole adjacent countries, I call them countries.his work ethic is uncompromised. Even as a child he would not go out and play with his friends until he finished his homework. That ended up making him the valedictorian and he has excelled ever since. He’s very young to be in Congress, 39, compared to those old white men that permeate the Republican Party.

And now the Republican party is turning his back on him. But he is not flinching. I love this Twitter give and take what he had with Donald Trump jr.

From the NPR article by Dustin Dwyer

If there is anything that we can take away, that we did not know already, from the George Stephanopoulos interview with Trump is that Trump talks like a mob boss. And so it is not out of character for his son to act like a mob boss also. Although both would be terrible, seriously if anybody watched The Sopranos, Goodfellas are The Godfather movies you’ll know that Trump and his family would not make it very long. But I guess I’ll president has ambitions to be a mob boss. Not very reassuring?

I bring up Watergate a lot on my blog. I guess it thrust me into my love of politics at a very young age. I watched every single minutes of the Watergate hearings on the 13 inch GE PortaColor television that my parents gave me for my bar mitzvah. I had a summer job answering phones and I got my boss to let me watch the hearings on my television what’s on your piece in one year and answering the phones with the other.I would carry my TV back and forth everyday and trust me it wasn’t lite. At the beginning of the hearings there was no Republican support for impeaching vixen but as history now tells us by the end of the hearings take it. Maybe because make sense want a second term and there was no election could take him out of office.

I understand Justin Amash and his wish to have Trump impeached, if I could see this guy out of office tomorrow it would make me so happy. I would deal with a Mike Pence presidency or maybe not. One of those phrases that Trump uses on the media is enemy of the people. Honestly it’s the Republican party and Trump who are the enemy of the people. So even someone that he’s seemingly benign like Mike Pence trying to make himself look is actually deep down a radical bigot.

I think that the best way to Democrats can go is through impeachment inquiries but without actually losing in an impeachment fight. The inquiries will be chiseling away at Trump’s support and hopefully he’ll the weakend enough that by November 2020 he is defeated in a I landslide.

As far as Justin Amash is concerned, he can count on my donating to his re-election campaign. He’s not in my party but he’s the kind of leaders we need in our country.

Yale psychiatrist Bandy Lee: Trump’s mental health is now a “national and global emergency” – Salon

The old joke is “I’m not a doctor but I play one on TV”.

Honestly I think do any of us need to be doctors or psychiatrist to see how Disturbed the present occupant of the White House is? I think the 59% who disapprove of trump also understand that he’s mentally ill. Calling him a narcissist is too easy. It goes deeper than that let’s think about a few of the signs. He’s lies over 10,000 times in public since taking office. His weird obsession with his daughter. The way he treats everyone from his cabinet members to the White House staff.  He destroys relationships whether it’s with his wives or with anyone within his inner circle. This is the guy that has the nuclear codes.

In his interview with George Stephanopoulos he said that the world doesn’t work that way and he’s right the world should not work with a man like him as president of the United States. The Secretary of States is called him a moron. His Chief of Staff told people he was an idiot. And this is what we have as the man leading our country. this is a scary time for America and all those people on the America first bandwagon need to get a hold of themselves and see what they have put in the White House.

Car sales are at recession levels. And they are always the canary in the coal mine. Next we’re going to start seeing unemployment start goingng up but will it be in time for the country to get rid of this scourge, I hope so.

It’s courageous people in the medical establishment to come out and say the things that this doctor has said but it needs to be said.

My friends who are Trump supporters brush all of these kind of things away because in essence they like the fact that has a very rich people he has lowered their taxes. At Whose expense? One of those friends I had a friend who needed help in Florida and he asked me if I could help. I told him no. He was surprised because he lives in California. I explained in Florida there is no income tax, sales taxes are lowbut as each to be said. It’s funny, my friends who are Trump supporters brush all of these kind of things away because and that sucks they like the fact that as a very rich people he has Lord there taxes. Had who’s expense? Want of those friends had a friend who needed help in Florida and he asked me if I could help. I told him no. He was surprised because he lives in California. I explained and floor. They’re is no tax on the state, sales taxes are low and where did you think the money was going to come from. He had no answer and that’s the problem with the Republican Party, they have no answers.

‘Fox & Friends’ Host Brian Kilmeade Attacks Trump for Saying He Would Take Foreign Intel – The Daily Beast

I’ve been communicating with one of my best friends today telling him that it’s becoming someone disheartening to see this President and his actions. He’s out there in the open, figuratively shooting someone on 5th Avenue.

What is more upsetting to me take the fact of the Republican Party anyway it’s leaders, say they’re okay with it. I keep thinking of this scenario. Let’s say, Norway, comes up to Joe Biden and says “Hey we’ve got information on Donald Trump, want it? All things being equal other than having a body buried somewhere in the White House this President seems to be immune from bad information about him. But in the future, hopefully we’ll have another president whose last name is not Trump, I wonder how the Republicans defending this President and his words yesterday would feel?

I’ve been a lifelong Democrat but there has been Republicans that I have admired. But when Mitch McConnell if his swarthy face says that if one of theSupreme Court justices passes away next year would he replaced at Justice unlike what he did was Merrick Garland, he says yes. So as far as I’m concerned the Republican party or the party of trump is morally bankrupt and yes we need a conservative voice but one that respect the laws of our country and are not blatant hypocrites.

Until I am proven wrong, I feel very pessimistic about the future of our country and especially the democracy our forefathers envisioned us for us. I pray to the universe that I am wrong
