My meanderings about politics, LGBTQI COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
When Trump took over the presidency the National Security Council wrote talking points for when the president would speak to foreign leaders. These were varied and had lots of detail. These are the same that have been written for presidents for decades. After a few weeks advisors to the president said that these were too much, he’s more of a visual guy, he needed more pictures.
So basically we have a president who wants to run the country with comic books or at best a graphic novel as his briefing documents. I have not used the I word before in this blog but I think it’s time for impeachment. Actually I know it’s time for impeachment and if this Congress was not run by spineless and unpatriotic Republicans impeachment would be started. You would think it would be in their best interest to get rid of this stain and get someone who might get reelected like Mike Pence.
I don’t like Mike Pence and especially his anti-gay rhetoric but bad is better than crazy. And that’s a sad state that our country is in.
I will preface this by saying the old adage that “a week in politics is like a year in real life”. That being said and how well the electorate knows both these candidates makes that rule a little bit less hard and fast. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have been on the world stage now for 35 years. So I think that barring some unexpected Revelations or some threat to our country these numbers are going to stay pretty much where they are. I could be proved wrong but my gut instinct says that Hillary is going to win and win by a substantial margin. She’s coming within the margin of error in Georgia to Trump. That’s unprecedented, Georgia has been a red state for ever now. AVB http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_clinton-5491.html
This is an interesting demographic to go and try to recruit to Hillary’s campaign. They are engaged, they vote, and they care about the future for their children and Families. Donald Trump does not make you feel good about the future. His inconsistent policies and his complete lack of knowledge of how the world works is very obvious to those who are well educated. For example he thinks that if we want a more stable world we need a strong ambassador to the UN. That would be interesting except the UN has absolutely no power. Unless Donald Trump wants the US to cede its power to the general counsel something that would not be a good idea. Being a good businessman and being a good president have different skill sets. Now first of all I am not saying that Donald Trump is a good businessman. He keeps saying that he’s so successful because he has all of these shiny towers named after him. In fact many of those are just license agreements where he doesn’t own the buildings at all. Secondly the way one interacts and government and with foreign governments is completely different than the way one interacts in business. I think that we are going to turn red States blue all over the map in November. Hillary Clinton is going to be the 45th president of the United States if nothing drastic changes between now and November.
