Death toll in Odessa shooting rises to 7, a 17-month-old child among those injured – NBC News

The bought-and-paid-for subsidiary of the NRA, Texas governor Greg Abbott, when on political spin this day after the tragic shooting. He claimed that they had passed new laws to help stem the epidemic of gun shootings in Texas oh, yes they did pass gun laws but gun laws that make it easier to carry a gun in public and gave more access to guns not the less. It’s disheartening to have these things happen to us as a collective society as often as they happen and all I hear is thoughts and prayers. We the voters need to take control of our government. Enough is enough is what the parkland kids said and I cannot agree with them more.when 90% of Democrats and 71% of Republicans want common Sense gun reform and nothing is happening this is an issue that both parties need to address. I’m sorry, I love President Obama, but the Democrats did not have the backbone to pass the gun laws we need in our country. The problem is that once the Democrats leave office, because they’re voted out, the Republicans come in and push everything back to where it was if not making it worse. Case in point look what Trump has done to our environmental protections!

Trump, Moscow Mitch McConnell and the Republicans have blood on their hands.

O’Rourke says Trump should not visit El Paso in wake of shooting – TheHill

First and foremost let us not forget the victims of this weekend’s Carnage. The multitude of people they’ve left behind agreed and it’s going to take awhile for them to try to get their lives back honestly I don’t think they ever will.

Now to the politics of this. This weekend has been a boon for two people in my opinion. Trump benefits from the fact that although his statement was terrible his supporters are going to think that he did the right thing and looked, so-called presidential. Actuality he never really condemned white supremacist. He never said I cut them he says the nation must, a dog whistle to them. He never mentioned Latinos or Hispanics in this speech and I hate that has befallen them. He blamed a straw man, video games. It’s like the Republicans have these talking points and they know that thoughts and prayers has become unfortunately a cliche so now they’re using video games and mental illness. The real culprit are the assault weapons flooding our streets.

Trump fueled this killing spree and his going there is akin to an arsonist getting to go back to the scene of his crime. what Trump does with Trump does and he’s going to show up and do the most inappropriate things and his supporters will love him and those who don’t will it continue to despise him. I can’t hear his voice anymore, I prefer to be locked in a room with people scratching blackboards. On the plus side for Trump you haven’t heard the words Jeffrey Epstein, impeachment or Robert Mueller for a few days. And let’s not forget about the the ridiculous tariffs and trade war with China.

Beto O’Rourke is another one of those people that has benefited from this. And it’s not because it happened in his hometown, Tim Ryan is from Ohio and no one here’s anything about him. Tim Ryan suspended his campaign and to be honest I read that I hoped he had pulled out of the race. On the other hand Beto O’Rourke has been a great spokesman for his City, Texas and those who these terrorists have gunned down. He has been front and center all of the network coverage of this horrific event in El Paso. Is commentary wine above the normal rhetoric one hears and he truly made himself look good. I still wish he would run against cornyn senator up for taxes but that’s his decision to make.

There’s a lesson to be learned from this and all of these tragedies is that we need to make sure that those people we love know that and we always leave them with a smile on our face and no angry words because one never knows when we’ll see them again, if ever.

Gilroy Garlic Festival gunman referred to ‘Might is Right’ neo-Nazi manifesto before shooting – NBC News

I’m sure we’re not going to be surprised. I’m sure we’re not going to be surprised by this president. I am so sure that I’m going to say this now. If this had been a Muslim or a person of color he would come out and call them terrorists. But this is a white teenager with a Neo-Nazi calling and he’s just going to say thoughts and prayers but never say the word terrorist about an individual who brought Terror to a community.

Let’s stop mincing words, neo-nazis are the bad people. They were in the back people in Charlottesville, they were the bad people who killed the African American Church and they are the people that killed a little six-year-old boy and a 13 year old girl and another innocent man yesterday in Gilroy. It’s funny I’ve always wanted to go to the Gilroy garlic festival so when I heard the words Gilroy come up in a breaking news last night I feared that I knew where the shooting that happened.

Speaking of terrorist, let’s talk about the NRA.when the NRA was formed it was a gun safety organization. Now they are of purveyor of fear across our country. where is Wayne LaPierre and his million-dollar salary today? Nowhere to be found because they cower after these killings and when the dust settles like cockroaches they come back. It’s time for the NRA to be dismantled and crushed.

NRA Board Member Allen West Calls for Wayne LaPierre’s Ouster – The Daily Beast

I have yelled at the TV more times than I’d like to think about when Allen West was on spewing his form of conservatism. The NRA must truly be in trouble if this guy comes out and says that both Wayne LaPierre and the new president who replaced Oliver North are lying about access that the board has to financial information. Financial information like the $200,000 in suits that Wayne LaPierre has purchased on the NRA account. What is it with all of these Republicans buying expensive suits, remember Paul Manafort’s?

The NRA started as a gun safety organization and now it’s a purveyor of violence across the country. They claim the second amendment is there right to unlimited arms and yet they seem to forget the first words of the 2nd amendment which say “A well regulated Militia” and yet they negate the word regulated and go for all-out armament of themselves. It’s absurd and it’s even more absurd that courts have upheld this. Look at Australia which had a mass murder in 1998 and also had a strong gun ownership history. They banned guns bought them back and there has been complete drop in gun violence unprecedented in our times. Look at how fast New Zealand acted upon the same issue. It’s funny I’m watching the show called Janet King which is an Australian show that reminds me of Law & order. And season 2 there have been 19 murders over the course of 15 months by gun violence and they have set up a commission to figure out how to stop gun crime. 19 murders! That’s not even an hour in the United States. And by the way the guns were all imported to Australia from the US, any surprises there? It’s making us a hated country.

The United States of America is the number one gun exporter in the world and that’s the legal ones.

When is enough is enough? Sandy Hook, Parkland, Pulse Nightclub, all church, synagogue and mosque shootings or those on army bases? We have become numb to this violence just like we have become numb to the hatred spewing out of this white house and it’s time for a change before we lose our America forever.
