My meanderings about politics, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
How much clearer can we be but to say that we are not the customers of Facebook we are the product that Facebook sells. There’s no other way around this and if you believe otherwise then you have been fooled by their marketing. Sure they have this feel good marketing campaign telling us how they’re going to go back to the way they used to be, is that going to be any better? The way they used to be was the way that got us Trump in the White House, that guy that sold to the highest bidder.
Do me a favor. Delete Facebook app from your phone. I’m not telling you to deactivate your Facebook I’m just telling you to delete it from your phone. Try it for a week. If at the end of the week you don’t feel better then put it back on and they cost you nothing because all you need to do is log back in. But I promise you you’re going to feel better and you’re going to see that Facebook is one of those things that we’ve gotten used to but we really don’t need. We did really well until 2004. Yes 2004 is when Facebook was just a little bit of an idea and Mark Zuckerberg mines. We did well and we survived so it’s time that we stop letting them have all of our information for free.
Yes, this is my second blog post in a row about Facebook. And what this article says makes so much sense. Basically he says that one should think about Facebook like a car. I have a car, I don’t commute to work but use the car occasionally. Some people have a car and they needed to commute to work everyday and use it all the time. Facebook is the car. Use it when you need it but don’t rely upon it all the time unless you desperately need it.
He suggests deleting Facebook from your phone as opposed to deleting your Facebook account. I deleted my Facebook account but I’m one of those people that doesn’t like incremental steps. Deleting Facebook from your phone just means that you’ll have to access Facebook from a laptop which would limit your FaceTime on Facebook and that would be good for you. I actually talk to my friends now as opposed to just interacting over the internet. And my friendships have gotten stronger from it. I hope you will at least delete Facebook from your phone and at the end of the day if you’re not happier, just put it back on your phone and everything will go back the way it was.
