My meanderings about politics, LGBTQ COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
The irony of it all. The Republicans that relish having dark money so they can use it like a trojan horse to confuse the electorate is now crying foul, or in this case crying moo.
The Republicans who have used dark money since the horrendous citizens united supreme Court ruling are now upset because it’s being used against them. if there is one thing that has ruined our body politic its citizens united and it’s unlimited flow of dark money which confuses the electorate into voting for things that are not in their best interest. Devin Nunes loves dark money but now he’s complaining about it.
I remember when the Republican party were against frivolous lawsuits and yet here we have the co-chair of the intelligence committee in the house suing constituents and Powell’s on Twitter. Talk about frivolous lawsuits.
Do your job Devin Nunez and stop suing people left and right, if you did your job right nobody would be suing you.
First some positive thoughts about Representative Steve King
Well, after that lively discussion of Steve King’s positive aspects, let’s go on to the negative.
He’s a racist
He is a white supremacist
He thinks that incest and rape created Western Civilization
He does not have positive views towards minorities and immigrants
His last Town Hall had only one person in attendance
Which brings me to why the GOP is running to the exits regarding this man. He’s exactly the kind of guy that on the ticket would help the Democrats in his Congressional district. And I’m talking about the Democrat on the top of the ticket. So don’t think that the Republicans have all found some sort of come to Jesus moment with him. They are far more calculating and this is transactional. He is like a drowning man who will take anyone he can with him as he drowns.
This is not a GOP profile in courage it’s the GOP turning on one of their own with views similar to the man at the top.
This weekend I had my account locked by Twitter. Luckily they saw the error of their ways and apologized.
Now, having been in Twitter jail, I hope that Twitter locks Senator Mitch McConnell’s campaign account and throws away the key.
Other than the current occupant of the White House no single individual in our country has done more to harm the national fabric of our country. He is a corrupt old man. He funnels money to his wife and her family in China without even thinking twice. He takes money away from other states so that he can get reelected in Kentucky. He invented pork barrel. So I hope that Mitch McConnell is not re-elected.
I hope his campaign never sees the light of Twitter again.
After a Judge Roy Moore, Sheriff Joe Arpaio is the perfect choice for a GOP candidate for Senate. First they try to get a man who was instrumental in the growth of the me-too movement and now they want to put in a sheriff that broke the law and had to be pardoned. He’s 85 years old which also is a big question mark. If he wins he would be 86 years old which means he would run for reelection at 92. I think it’s time for a new generation to start running for elected positions in the federal government.
We’ve had enough reactionary politicians and Joe Arpaio is not only a convicted felon but one that has no regard for other people’s rights and should never be anywhere close to the Senate.
It’s interesting how he sees the world. He says that his campaign is going to help his business and yet he’s suing a restaurant Geoffrey Zakarian for pulling out of a contract to open a restaurant in one of his properties after his bigoted and racist presidential announcement in 2015. Chef Jose Andres had already pulled out from one of Trumps resorts. Trump properties have seen a drop in sales since his campaign started. No one wants their name associated with Trump and his company’s. If things go bad for the Trump corporations he will just declare bankruptcy as he is done 4 times in the past. That’s how he pays his bills and let’s small businesses go under because of his greed.
This revelation is not overly surprising to me. I’ve learned in my 62 years that people who hate one group usually don’t manifest that against just one group. This man’s hatred is so deep that I’m not willing to say his name. That Donald Trump put him into his cabal is surprising. But maybe that’s what we need to know about Donald Trump. Yes I know the rhetoric for the last 15 months has been ugly butt everyone said that Donald Trump was a nice guy once you met him personally. I’m starting not to believe that. Breitbart.com is a stain on our nation and that Donald Trump brought this man into his fold is an even bigger stain on our nation. Let’s not just the feet Donald Trump let’s make sure that Robby Mook’s 50 state strategy comes true.
Once again a great show. One of the funny parts of this show was the fact that Donald Trump has appointed as his co-chair for the Jefferson County Colorado area, which includes Denver suburbs, a 12 year old boy. It turns out that Donald Trump saw this young man at one of his rallies and just had to have him. Yes, the kids for Trump of Jefferson County chairman is now the co-chair of the Jefferson County Colorado Trump for president campaign. A 12 year old boy.
The new hire that is spoken about in thoe title of this piece is the new CEO of the Trump campaign formerly from breitbart.com. it seems that he has made it a career of removing from office Republican hierarchy. He was instrumental in getting rid of Eric Cantor, John Boehner and tried to get rid of, in a very failed, attempt Paul Ryan. This would not be news if it were not for the fact that Donald Trump has repeatedly said that he’s going to let the RNC run his campaign. This is the author of The Art of the deal and he brings in an anti-establishment figure like the former founder of breitbart.com? It’s not the way deals are usually made. You get more flies with honey than with vinegar. If this is the way Donald Trump plans to run the country I don’t want him anywhere near the White House. His campaign is a mess. His campaign is a joke. But campaigns in America play a more important role than in most countries. In fact campaigns have become a giant interview by the people for the gentleman or lady running for president. And Donald Trump is failing that interview terribly and it shows in the polls. I don’t see what vested interest the RNC has in getting Donald Trump to be president. Weirdly the RNC has raised less money than the Democrats this last month. During presidential campaigns is when the RNC feels his coffers with money. It’s not happening this year and it’s not happening because of Donald Trump.
Today was one of the Rachel Maddow Show best shows.
She started with the interview which was with Robby Mook, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager. It’s amazing how wonderful and pleasant he is despite the ugliness on the other side. Her interview with him was fair and made you see that she’s on our side. After the interview Rachel had a little spot where she explained that She interviewed Hillary Clinton 4 times in the last year and she has never been propped up by pillows. If you don’t know this new internet conspiracy theory, the Republicans are trying to say that Hillary is sick and needs to be propped up by pillows. I don’t know how being propped up by pillows makes you feel better if your sick or do your job better. But then Republicans don’t usually make a lot of sense to me.
And how long the segments of the show she explained how breitbart.com and Donald Trump have had a parallel thought line. When will you heard inexplicably Donald Trump attacking John McCain as not a war hero he was mirroring Breitbart. When Donald Trump said that President Obama was not an American he was mirroring Breitbart. So having the head of Breitbart run his campaign is the next logical step. We need to be ready for an assault of ugliness. That coupled with the fact that Roger Ailes is Donald Trump unofficial debate coach is not showing for a Rosy future. Roger Ailes in 1988 was a little-known Republican strategist. When the debate Commission in 1987 said that there would be three presidential debates and one vice presidential debate no one argued about it. But when poppy Bush did poorly against Michael Dukakis, Roger Ailes stepped in and told poppy Bush that there should be no more debates. And that year there was only one presidential debate and one vice presidential debate. So I doubt if we’re going to see all the debates that are scheduled for the presidential campaign this year because I’m sure Roger Ailes will realize that he has a dud as a debater in Donald Trump and will put a kibosh on any further debates.
Which brings us to today’s blog post about the campaign changes in the Trump camp and how they’re going to make the campaign a better reflection of Donald Trump. In fact I believe that they’re going to make the campaign a better reflection of breitbart.com, and that’s a scary thought. Breitbart is the Bastion of white supremacy and racism on the internet. God help us in the next 82 days.
The short and sweet of it is that Paul Manafort is going to be relegated to a lesser role. And if anyone expected Donald Trump to Pivot they are going to be unpleasantly surprised. The pivot is coming and is going to become meaner and more racist over the next 83 days. As Donald Trump realises he’s losing, and losing badly to a girl, he like every drowning person is going to try to take everybody down with him. The people that he’s installed are right-wing extremists and are going to make this a very ugly campaign. But to be honest as far as Donald Trump’s campaign, it has been anything but pretty.
This story is a year old. It is from July of 2015. I’m posting it now because it is indicative of what’s wrong with Donald Trump and the Trump campaign. This is the road that was paid to Melania making her speech using the first African American first ladie’s words.
Donald Trump is running his campaign the way that kid that you knew in high school who finished or sometimes even started his homework on the bus to school. A presidential campaign is the only way the American people can audition or interview a potential president. How the campaign is run is a good indicator on how the administration of that candidate will look. This is a sloppy campaign doing sloppy work for a sloppy candidate. And I am so tired of hearing Republicans attacking Hillary for the fact that their nominee for president wife plagiarized large portions of Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech. Look in the mirror guys, it’s your candidates fault not Hillary Clinton’s. I think Hillary Clinton has been unusually kind to mrs. Trump in the last 24 hours. When Paul manafort said that this was only an attack by Hillary because she felt threatened by another strong woman was such BS that I shut off the television. Last night’s speech could have been a momentous point in the convention. An immigrant who came to our Shores and has now reached not only the Pinnacle of our society but has done it herself. Instead she will be remembered for having plagiarized a speech. The campaign should have run her speech through plagiarizing detection software which is available to any High School teacher. And that is the shame of it all.
Which brings me to this article about Donald Trump tweeting a picture of himself superimposed on top of the White House last year with photos SS Nazi troops on his shoulder. The same sloppiness that brought us the plagiarized speech brought us this tweet with Nazis which in the end as far as I’m concerned this qualifies Donald Trump from the presidency because of not what he thinks but how sloppy a worker he is.
