At Facebook, public funds join push to remove Zuckerberg as chairman – Reuters

Being merely a blogger I don’t have access to the news media’s journalism and reach. I do have my brain. It became evident to me last year when it was revealed that Facebook received rubles, the Russian currency, in payment for ads running on their platform against Hillary Clinton. My brain tells me that Mark Zuckerberg was trying an experiment. I truly believe that Mark Zuckerberg thinks the world is is giant petri dish. One only needs to think about the fact that they tried to manipulate the Facebook stream to your content and see whether or not they could change your mood. I refuse to be a guinea pig and left Facebook about a year ago.

Removing Mark Zuckerberg would be a first step in my feeling a little bit more confident about Facebook. It certainly will not be what makes me get back to the platform.

U.S. deficit jumps 17% in 2018 – CNN

I guess making America great again costs a lot of money, especially money that goes into the pockets of the very wealthy. The tax cuts, if you want to call them that, or aimed mainly at the rich. Once again the voodoo economics, trickle down economics, has made the Republicans drunk with spending. This is a party that when it was not in power made President Obama’s life miserable. Remember the sequester’s when half of all non entitlement spending was cut in half? Yes we have a different Republican party now. One that doesn’t care if we make deals with Russians to win an election. One who doesn’t care about its brethren in Puerto Rico. One that doesn’t care about working class Americans. One that doesn’t care in letting each individual have the right to good medical care. That’s the new Republican Party and I hope it’s not for you.

The Delusional Futility of Analyzing Ashley Kavanaugh’s Awkward Body Language During Her Husband’s Swearing-In – Slate

I must be one of those violent Democrats because I did not watch anything to do with Kavanaugh’s Vote or swearing-in. Hand the hypocrisy of having a second swearing-in just baffles me. But then everything that this White House does baffles me.

I rarely ask that you go to the link that I post regarding the stories. I do urge you to go and watch the video for yourself. It’s rather disturbing.

Facebook says hackers saw personal info of 14 million people – NBC News

My divorce from Facebook is coming up on a year. I deactivated, deleted or however you want to say my Facebook account on November 11th 2017. I have not regretted it one minute. What I have seen his how ubiquitous Facebook has become. I cannot interact with the Stonewall Democratic party here in Los Angeles without Facebookas well as someone who does have Facebook. That being said the problems with Facebook are so ingrained that I truly believe it’s going to take a massive Exodus for them to start listening to us.

Oh and I did lose 55 pounds after getting rid of it and have not gained another pound. Kudos to me.

If you do a search on my blog for deleting or deactivating Facebook you will find step by step instructions. Our privacy is well worth a little inconvenience.

Hurricane Michael death toll rises as rescue crews struggle to access hard-hit areas – NBC News

It is said that emperor Nero fiddled while Rome burned. Our modern-day example is our president having a press conference with Kanye West in the Oval Office with Kanye West putting his feet on the Resolute desk and basically lecturing Trump for 10 minutes. Lecturing is too nice, perhaps a rant.

Meanwhile people have died in Florida from Hurricane Michael and an American Resident was abducted by Saudi Arabia and allegedly cut up by his assailants. Yet the White House is completely quiet about this. In another world in another time this would have been a major scandal but not today because the Tangerine nightmare in the White House takes all the oxygen out of the room.

Sotomayor on the Supreme Court: ‘We have to rise above partisanship’ – The Washington Post

In a week, this is all going to be water under the bridge, but we need to make this count. We need to go out and vote our hearts out and make sure there is truly a Blue Wave. I heard all about how Hillary Clinton was going to win the presidential race and yet she did not. We live in a country gerrymandered to death by the Republicans. We live in a country where voter suppression is part and parcel of the Republican Playbook. We live in a country that is under attack by Russia and its electoral process. We need to be diligent and we need to vote. Donate all the money you can to the Democratic Senate campaign fund, donate all the money you can toucan Chanel candidates across the country and make sure that you vote.

Mike Pence and the Trump administration’s complicity in downplaying Russian election interference – Washington Post

Each time I hear someone say they want Trump impeached I think about a president Pence and then I realize that he is as complicit As Trump. He will go down with Trump. He was in charge of the transition when they fired unceremoniously Chris Christie when he was no longer needed. These are dogs and they will fight each other and they will go down. I have no respect for them.

The concept that the president of the United States is the president of all the people seems to have been lost on the Trump Administration. He only speaks to his base and Pence is complicit. Let us not ever forget that Pence is complicit.

China did not want Trump to be president, Mister Pence, it was Russia.

Charles Aznavour, the ‘Frank Sinatra of France’, dies aged 94 – The Guardian

Charles Aznavour has been in my life all my life. His song “la bohème” one of my parents favorites. They would play it and I watch my mom become melancholy for her family. It is an Anthem of how things change and yet always remain the same. I have such great memories listening to this man’s music and I will always be grateful to him.

Text messages suggest Kavanaugh wanted to refute accuser’s claim before it became public – NBC News

Can we say obstruction of justice? By a judge? By an attorney? All of them yes.

Truly, does this man deserve a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court? I think not.
