Los Angeles Passes Law for New Businesses to Disclose Any Ties to NRA – Newsweek

I truly believe that living in Los Angeles is a privilege. When I moved here almost 20 years ago I was told that the city would eat me up. Instead the city has embraced me. Living in the city where people have the same mindset as you, for the most part, it’s magical.

So once again I’m so proud of our great City for standing up to the NRA. The NRA has become not only a purveyor of death and violence in our country but also a conduit of dirty money from foreign countries including Russia.

Can someone please explain to me why the NRA would be doing events in Russia. Russia does not allow gun ownership it never made sense.

Business in Los Angeles is also a privilege and if these companies wish to continue doing business here they need to start fussing up to how and why they are tied to the NRA.

Senate Intelligence Committee Democrats Dispute Claims That Russia Probe Found No Collusion – Mother Jones

it’s rather spectacular how do the GOP hierarchy has jumped on this no collusion bandwagon. I just saw the chairwoman of the RNC say that Trump has been exonerated! I laughed hard and then I blocked her.

Let’s make a few things clear here. First of all the Senate intelligence committee is a fact-gathering they do not have the power to put anyone in jail or even say that someone should be put in jail. Also unlike the Mueller investigation they cannot compel the testimony of people like with Gates who have the proverbial sword hanging over his head regarding how long he’ll go to jail if he doesn’t cooperate. They don’t have access to all of the information that Robert Mueller has but that’s not their job.

You know who else has attached in front of them, the prosecutors of the southern district of New York, the attorney General of New York, prosecutors from the Washington DC Office of the attorney General. Yes there are a lot more people looking into this then we know about.

Trump is in huge trouble and he knows it.

Netflix’s new partnership with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand is a win for pseudoscience – NBC News

I’ve never been a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow. I’ve never been a fan of celebrities cashing in on their celebrity through fake or untrustworthy claims regarding products or even more importantly your health. And so here we are at the Nexus of both with Netflix being vehicle where this fake science is promoted.

People look up to celebrities, people should not look up to celebrities. And yes they do. I don’t understand why someone who has a large media presence or an online following should be looked upon as having some special knowledge. They don’t, they are humans and they put on their pants, if they put them on themselves, one leg at a time. so I call upon Netflix to make sure that’s it just yours and especially the viewers of this Gwyneth Paltrow pseudoscience goop is made aware that this is not real science and there should be a Giant disclaimer. The way Netflix is going of late I don’t think they will.

And most of all, Gwyneth Paltrow, please get a life.

Tax code changes leave Americans asking, ‘What happened to my refund?’ – NBC News

I know, it’s hard to believe that tax cuts for the rich is not translating in self into Big refunds for the middle class and the poor. That’s how the Republican cookie crumbles literally. People are up in arms on the internet. They are saying the only reasonthey voted for the current occupants of the White House was for tax relief. Instead he raised their taxes! Not only did you erase it there taxes but he penalized States like California that have income tax where you can no longer deduct that from your income. So here we are California taxation without representation from the federal government because we are certainly not as well represented as Wyoming or Montana or The Dakotas with their 500,000 people and still two US Senators.

Jeff Bezos accuses National Enquirer owner of ‘extortion and blackmail’ – NBC News

I’ll preface this by saying I am not a fan of Jeff Bezos.

That being said, I’m certainly not a fan of the National enquirer or its parent corporation run by David Pecker. Yes, I used his name because it was funny in a sophomoric way.

I was just talking to a friend of mine about this. I had a caregiver about 3 years ago who was a gay man in his early 60s. He was well-educated and had a career as a character actor in Hollywood. He would take me to the grocery store and as we will check out he would short reading of theheadlines about Hillary Clinton on the cover of the National enquirer and tell mehow this was making him not want to vote for her.

How many others do you think had that same idea in the back of their heads?

78000 in three States?

Yes it’s a tabloid but for some reason people want to believe it’s headlines. Maybe because they’re salacious and people want to think that others have a worse life than they do even if they’re celebrities, especially if they’re celebrities. And to me that’s the danger of this publication. I would never advocate for it to be closed for any reason but it would be really nice if mainstream media would call it out for what it is, a bunch of lies.

In the wake of the shutdown, Pelosi’s public support grows – MSNBC

The best thing that’s happened to the present occupant of the White House lately has been Governor Ralph Northam.

That’s being said let’s talk about Nancy Pelosi. The shade that he caved would be such an understatement. He puts a country or through 35 days of uncertainty for nothing. He got the same exact if not worse deal that’s he would have had if the government had not shut down. He is the worst negotiator ever. this is the man who got mad at President Obama when he announced that we were going to do a measure to pull out from Iraq he said Trump tweets that we’re going to pull out of Syria completely and take half of our troops out of Afghanistan. Oh yes Mr. President that’s exactly the stealth approach you had been talking about. Announce to our hose especially Isis everything we’re going to be doing so they can make their plans for takeover. You’re making your boss Putin very happy because he’s wanted full reign over the middle East forever and now you’re giving it to him. I wonder what he’s blackmailing you with to get that.

Nancy Pelosi rocks and Trump sucks.

Ann Coulter: Trump Is ‘Lazy and Incompetent’ – The Daily beast

If you read the whole interview you’ll see that she is as delusional as he is. She claims he can use his power as commander-in-chief to direct the military to build a wall. Nope, that’s not going to happen. The military would need to have funds given to it by Congress for this task. does she really believe that the military has money sitting around not being used for the troops and all of the defense department toys that they love so much. The defense department would never ever take money away from an aircraft carrier or a jet fighter to build a wall along the southern border that is not necessary.

I wasn’t sure if Trump’s would see her interviews so I made sure he could read the headline, I translated into Russian for him.

Facebook vs. Apple: Tech’s biggest cold war heats up — and gets personal – NBC News

I’ve never been part of the Apple ecosystem. I use Windows computers and Android phones. But in this case I am squarely in Tim Cook’s corner.

Tim Cook said that Apple sells Hardware not people’s data. Facebook not only sells people’s data but they are mercenary in their tactics. everything we’ve heard about Facebook and the last wheat makes it abundantly clear that it’s a bad player and needs to be thoroughly regulated it’s not broken into several smaller pieces. Mark Zuckerberg is the problem. He has ambitions to be President and is using his platform of 2.7 billion people to experiment on how to make his campaign work.

He said that Facebook was not aware of the Russians. But Facebook took payment in Russian currency for ads against Hillary Clinton. Who did he think that money was coming from? Mars?

November 11th 2017 was my D-day with Facebook. I left the platform and never looked back. I am a much happier person since I have not had Facebook in my life. grown accustomed to going to Instagram, another Facebook operation and when I saw it became too much a part of my life again I put the icon off of my desktop and have to go look for it in the myriad of icons in my app menu.

Regulation, regulation, regulation of Facebook!

I applaud Tim Cook an Apple for actually being mindful of their customer base. In the long run this is going to make apple stronger and more trusted in the eyes of everyday consumers.

Chaos erupts inside Facebook after Apple blocks internal apps: Report – Business Insider

This could not have happened to a more deserving evil corporation. Facebook is digging its own grave. Zuckerberg and his minions think they are the Masters of the universe, the problem most asked is whenever someone thinks they’re the master of the universe the universe strikes back. Is this case Apple strikes back. shutting down all the internals apps that Facebook employees used to communicate with each other a move as masterful as something Nancy Pelosi with do to Trump.

Today has been a bad news Day for Facebook. First Banks set off alarms because too many people were asking for chargebacks. Turns out Facebook sneered teenagers into thinking they were playing a game just for the cost of all of their internet data in fact they started charging the teenagers parents cards without giving any notice to anyone. Parents saw it on their bills started calling the banks and credit card companies and the chargebacks started. When a company has more than 1% in chargebacks in a month, alarms go off. Facebook had 5%!

This Insidious company that has tried to become the new Ma Bell, is finding itself on the same receiving end that AT&T did at the turn of the century. AT&T was broken up into lots and lots of smaller entities and I think Facebook is going to be facing the same state. It’s why Facebook is trine too quickly merge as many of these companies into one so that when they split up it will seem like the government has done its job. merging Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger into one unit does not mean that they should not be divided even more. This company has gotten too big and it is not too big to fail.

Parents, check your credit card statements, Facebook is fleecing and stealing from you through your kids

Update:

Moms and dads out there check your credit card statements. Turns out that Facebook is charging your credit cards and duping your kids into playing games that they believe are free.

don’t you have enough problems on your plate without Facebook? Yes I know Facebook is Insidious in our lives but it’s worth getting rid of it even though your kids will hate you for a little while.

itsfunneh getting off of drugs is difficult. Deactivating Facebook is made very difficult by its creator and they will tug at your heartstrings and tell you that you’re leaving friends and familybehind. I believe you have an instrument called a smart phone in your hand and you can call your friends and family or text if you’re not old school.

I deactivated my Facebook account in November of 2017. It was not easy. When I first started my blog, Facebook generated 90% of the traffic. Now after years my traffic is generated from the search engines.

On a more personal note, I never used Facebook to remind me of my close friends birthdays. They are in my calendar on my phone and backed up to the clouds. My account had over 1,500 friends and honestly I knew maybe three hundred of them. And of those 300 I would call 30 my friends. Facebook has very cleverly changed what are understanding of friends had been through the centuries. I have read article upon article about how Facebook uses and did this very much by Design our need to be liked. So each time somebody gets a like it sends endorphins into their brain and they get just a little more hooked. I like myself, maybe that’s narcissistic but I don’t think so. I truly believe you need to like yourself before you can know how to like others.

And as far as far definition of what a friend is here goes. When I was a little kid my dad told me a story that his dad told them and that he told me his dad had been told by his dad and that it went down Generations. A boy lives on a small village. He is asked about his father when he reaches his teens how many friends does he had. The boy responds I have so many I can’t count them. He asked his father how he had so few friends. His father responded friends are not just people you know but people who actually care deeply about you. He told his son to go and kill a lamb, yes I hate this part but it is somewhat biblical, and put it into a burlap bag. Go to your friends all of those friends that you said you had and tell them you have just killed a man and can they help you. The ones who don’t slam the door on your face are your friends. I’m not telling you that they’re going to go and help you with your crime by hiding the fact that you did it but rather help you through this horrible thing you had done. That’s what a friend is.

Can we really truly say that all of those people that’s what we now have as so-called friends on Facebook who do that for us, I don’t have to think about this my answer is no.

So if you want to follow what I did there are some simple steps. Find out which of your friends birthdays are important to you and put them in your calendar. Make sure you have all of those friends contact information. Then go to the Facebook help area and ask how to deactivate your account. Depending on your platform and the vice they will be different. They will try to tug at your heartstrings at this point. Don’t let them. And then they will ask why you’re doing this. And this is important because there are 15 reasons but the important one you should check is other. And explain in your own words how upset you are at them for having allowed another country to meddle in other countries elections. They have a responsibility to their 2 billion users and they are failing miserably at it. Congressional leaders last week came out of hearings with Facebook and in a bipartisan scream that’s Facebook transparency and gave them ways of fixing what Facebook does. I have a simple way to stop at least some of what Russian does. Don’t accept rubles for political ads in another country. I don’t think that’s takes a rocket scientist to figure out. And I think Russia has a few rocket scientist on hand. And yes, Russia will find ways around this but that’s what they have something called algorithms add Facebook to circumvent.

Facebook will never change unless we force them to. I have a feeling that 2016 once a dress rehearsal for how Mark Zuckerberg plans to become president and either 2020 or 2024 depending on the political winds. That might seem harsh but think about it. You don’t see Google doing what Facebook did. First Google is a search engine and yes they have a duty to remove news that is false and opinions that are inappropriate but that’s not what Facebook is. Twitter gets literally hundreds of millions of tweets each day and again that’s not what Facebook does. I am not saying that Google and Twitter are without blame but to me in comparison with what Facebook did it’s something that they have announced they will fix and I believe them. And also neither Twitter on Google has a name like Mark Zuckerberg that everyone knows as their founders. Yes some people know who started Google and Twitter but it’s not as universal as Mark Zuckerberg.
