My meanderings about politics, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
I know, it’s hard to believe that tax cuts for the rich is not translating in self into Big refunds for the middle class and the poor. That’s how the Republican cookie crumbles literally. People are up in arms on the internet. They are saying the only reasonthey voted for the current occupants of the White House was for tax relief. Instead he raised their taxes! Not only did you erase it there taxes but he penalized States like California that have income tax where you can no longer deduct that from your income. So here we are California taxation without representation from the federal government because we are certainly not as well represented as Wyoming or Montana or The Dakotas with their 500,000 people and still two US Senators.
Isn’t he presidential! President Donald Trump kisses a printed example of what a new tax form may look like during a meeting on tax policy with Republican lawmakers in the Cabinet Room of the White House on Nov. 2, 2017, in Washington, as House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wis., watch him what I would hope would be horror, but that’s Paul Ryan and no. President Trump during the campaign said that the United States would be tired of all the winning that he would bring to the country. I am tired but it’s not because of the winning it’s because of all the losing. We put money out to these corporations and then one after the other day back down but keep the money. how about the carrier plant that he talked so much about when he was in transition. or the Ford factory, there’s no point in my going on and on.
He’s a terrible deal maker and everyone knows it except for him. Maybe he does know it and maybe Seth Meyers has something when he does that sticks about the small voice of insecurity in Trump’s head.
It is said that’s when something happens in your life that’s very memorable, like the Challenger explosion or the death of President Kennedy or 911 you remember exactly what happened and vivid images. Well I was a stockbroker at Prudential Bache in Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1987. I remember that day well when the market crashed. we had computers on her desk but they were nothing like what we have now obviously, and they were programmed for a stock market that was running around 2,000. when it crashed below 500 the programmers had never envisioned it to do that so they all went black. We were blocked and our clients will calling us hysterically.
in today’s numbers it would be like a stock market Fall of 3,000 points in one day. I loved that job until that day. I helped a lot of customers try to save some of their wealth. But the business changed at that point and within a year I had quit being a stockbroker. Many of my fellow brokers work doing things that should never be done to clients. Much of the hierarchy of Prudential-Bache went to jail, including its president, and for good reason.
So we can we are repeating history oh, it feels like I’m in a Time Warp, between the similarities with Watergate and now the stock market.
There is an expression in politics that says “it’s the economy stupid”, so correct. So I hope and pray that this is not going to happen to us but with the government shutdown, the ridiculous tax increases for the wealthy, trade Wars I don’t see a very Rosy future for our economy. More than any thing that Michael Cohenn could say.
White House press secretaries I’ve had it hard in the Trump Administration. How could we forget Sean Spicer and the amount of lies that he’s feud off of the podium on his very first press briefing. And of course although he was not press secretary, Anthony scaramucci who was the press director for the White House for about 28 days also had it hard. And now we come to who I feel the least amount of empathy for, Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I believe that she relishes debasing the press wow lying to the American people. Mike Wallace would be very happy with his son right now. He put it right on the line of the fact that this wall is not going to stop terrorists. this wall will do nothing but empty out the coffers of the American government as for what? Yes, there is a President who is about to be indicted, impeached or hopefully he and his vice president will resign.
The current occupant of the White House scenes to really like to talk in extreme generalizations. All government workers are Democrats. All Mexicans are rapists. Terrorists are coming up from the southern border all the time. And so on and so on and so on.
I guess I’m one of those criminals because I do not in any way support aboard a wall.
I am so looking forward to a plain old boring politician in the White House again.
Have you ever heard the word war in a positive tone?
There’s a reason for that because war is ugly and so are Trade Wars. This protectionist presidency is doing everything in its power to bring our economy down to the level of Russia. Yes we’re a behemoth but so were so many other great powers that have fallen to the wayside of History.
Paul Ryan has no legacy. This is supposed to be some math wizard what did they call him a policy wonk, no such thing, he’s a creature of politics. He hitched his wagon to Trump and now he is out on his own in Wisconsin. I wonder if he plans to run for president in 2020? What that be interesting?
Poor Pinocchio, he’s getting a bad rap. He lied a couple of times but it’s so unfair that his name be dragged through the mud with the Tangerine nightmare’s.
I remember In a place far far away and a Time long ago when a President would speak and it was mostly the truth. Oh wait that was two years ago and here. It’s difficult to watch an institution that I have looked up to for all of my life being destroyed by this man for his own purposes.
I guess making America great again costs a lot of money, especially money that goes into the pockets of the very wealthy. The tax cuts, if you want to call them that, or aimed mainly at the rich. Once again the voodoo economics, trickle down economics, has made the Republicans drunk with spending. This is a party that when it was not in power made President Obama’s life miserable. Remember the sequester’s when half of all non entitlement spending was cut in half? Yes we have a different Republican party now. One that doesn’t care if we make deals with Russians to win an election. One who doesn’t care about its brethren in Puerto Rico. One that doesn’t care about working class Americans. One that doesn’t care in letting each individual have the right to good medical care. That’s the new Republican Party and I hope it’s not for you.
We are meant to have a government by the people, for the people and yet this President seems to think that it’s a government for his Base by his base. Let all others be damned. Brett Kavanaugh and his views go contrary to the vast majority of the American people. By the Numbers 72% believe that women should have the right to decide how to deal with their bodies. 75% of Americans believe that we need stricter gun control laws. And these numbers are the same if you talk about campaign reform, civil rights, and so many other issues that will come before The Supreme Court. So why did the Tangerine nightmare in the White House pick Brett Kavanaugh? Brett Kavanaugh believes in an imperial presidency. That word hasn’t cropped up since the Nixon era and here we are coming back. Okay. Let us not forget this is a lifetime appointment of a man who’s in his 50s which means we will be saddled with him for a generation. So when you think about whether or not you’re going to vote in November think about how important your vote is. Just to give you a little bit of perspective Hillary Clinton lost Michigan by only two votes per Precinct, just too.
