My meanderings about politics, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
Look, I’m used to seasons being 36-hours of programming. so when the first Star Trek-Discovery season was shortened I was disappointed. there was not enough time to enjoy this wonderful new series. I’m happy that they have decided to extended by one episode for this new season. Counting the days until the January 17th oh, by the way it’s on the Thursday now, premier of Star Trek-Discovery.
That being said, I think the NFL is inexcusable. we have turned these poor men into gladiators who for a lot of money destroy their brains and live out their lives for the most part in misery. The NFL needs to take ownership of their issues with brain injuries or it should no longer be on network television. If someone wants to pay for it then let it be on pay-per-view but advertisers should stop advertising on NFL games. They might as well be advertising on shows about child molesting.
Charles Aznavour has been in my life all my life. His song “la bohème” one of my parents favorites. They would play it and I watch my mom become melancholy for her family. It is an Anthem of how things change and yet always remain the same. I have such great memories listening to this man’s music and I will always be grateful to him.
Trump supporters were promised all the best people. I say Trump supporters because I never believed he would have all the best people. Look at his campaign and how badly it was run.
I am a man of my convictions and when CNN hired Corey Lewandowski, a known abuser of women, I pulled the plug on CNN. I have not watched CNN since he was hired. Now comes the case of Jason Miller. Another one of these people that they pull out of the dregs to be a supporter of trump. It’s amazing the people they have to find that are willing to talk about the Tangerine nightmare in a favorable light. I think CNN should look at MSNBC and how they have not tried to find people that are going to speak well of the Tangerine nightmare because anyone who does seems to lack credibility or just moral fortitude.
All the best people, another one of the lies, the 5,000 lies, that we have been told by this president in his time in office.
We are meant to have a government by the people, for the people and yet this President seems to think that it’s a government for his Base by his base. Let all others be damned. Brett Kavanaugh and his views go contrary to the vast majority of the American people. By the Numbers 72% believe that women should have the right to decide how to deal with their bodies. 75% of Americans believe that we need stricter gun control laws. And these numbers are the same if you talk about campaign reform, civil rights, and so many other issues that will come before The Supreme Court. So why did the Tangerine nightmare in the White House pick Brett Kavanaugh? Brett Kavanaugh believes in an imperial presidency. That word hasn’t cropped up since the Nixon era and here we are coming back. Okay. Let us not forget this is a lifetime appointment of a man who’s in his 50s which means we will be saddled with him for a generation. So when you think about whether or not you’re going to vote in November think about how important your vote is. Just to give you a little bit of perspective Hillary Clinton lost Michigan by only two votes per Precinct, just too.
When I was a kid I used to read Superman comic books. Once in awhile Superman would end up in Bizarro world. Everything would be backwards. Does that sound familiar to what is happening today?
Senator McCain may be remembered as the last of the bipartisans. I did not agree with him on everything but I knew that he listens and wanted to try to come to some arrangement. The republicans in Congress now have one goal, to feed that insatiable thirst for more money so they can get reelected. Freshman Congressman arriving or told by their party that they need to forget about writing bills and instead they need to worry about running for congress again. The average Congressman spends 6 hours a day calling for donations to the very rich. I may be going out on the tension here but Senator McCain makes me want to get up on top of a hill and scream that we need reform in our politics. First and foremost we need to get big money out of politics, it’s what has created the swamp and it’s turning our whole country into one.
Count me as one of the close to 4 million people that watched Rachel Maddow last night. As well as the record numbers of people that watched MSNBC all day. NBC used to have Thursday night as must see TV, well on Tuesday MSNBC was must-see TV. The Barrage of news coming out between the 1 and 2 p. M. Hour was overwhelming. Nicole Wallace and her deadline White House show had their usual cast of characters. The interesting part was that for the first time I was hearing cell phone notification sounds. That’s because the news was moving so fast that her panelists did not want to be left out in the cold. She did a great job and I am so happy for MSNBC. Perhaps they’ll bring back their moniker of Leaning forward.
I think the American people, including many Trump supporters, understand that this man needs see a psychiatrist about his mental state. I don’t believe he ever wanted to be president and now he’s trapped in this job and he doesn’t want. People are pushing him to stay in the office because they want him to bring their agenda into fruition. it’s rather selfish of them but then the Stephen Miller’s of the world are selfish.
So let’s talk about this turkey, I guess we could call it the turkey in the room. Butterball says that even a 30 lb turkey should only be cooked for 6 hours if it stuffed. All this food talk is making me hungry. Anyway, this is a president that loves to eat steaks well done, the worst way to cook a steak. No wonder the chefs of the White House find him to be the worst president they’ve ever worked for. They should just put a McDonald’s in the White House and that would be all he needs.
People who are more polite than I said that he was distracted on Tuesday night. I don’t call this distraction I call it the beginnings of dementia.
