Judge calls Trump administration family reunification efforts ‘unacceptable’ – NBC News

I never thought I would be ashamed of my country. It’s done some terrible things in what it thought was the right thing to do. But separating mothers from their children goes beyond the pale. This is the post November 9th 2016 America, this is Trump’s America. In the name of this demagogue we have become intolerant, divided, and not the country that our founding fathers hoped we would be at the mature age of 242.

We have a tag line calling ourselves the resistance. Well now is the time to resist and go and volunteer and make phone calls and donate and knock on doors and do everything you know how to do to get people out to vote. I I am volunteering at the Westside Democratic Club helping people learn how to make cold calls. The Westside Democratic Club is in Westwood and I live in downtown Los Angeles. I drive there in rush hour and come back home in what is left over from Rush Hour. It actually takes me more time to get home then it does to get there. And I’m not doing enough, he’ll I’m not doing half of what I should be doing to try to save our country.

EXCLUSIVE: Roger Stone Reviews Paul Manafort’s Fashion – The Daily Caller

Normally you would find a link at the bottom of this taking you to the article that this is based on. I won’t give The Daily Caller that much importance.

If Roger Stone, someone that’s still very close to Donald Trump is attacking Paul manafort on his fashion sense while he’s on trial I believe that this is an implicit attack on the individual Paul manafort. Rodger stone is a very shrewd operator and he would not put an article like this in a right-wing, Breitbart like website, if it were not for the consumption of the Trump base. They are bracing for Paul manafort to flip and making him an “enemy of the people” before he does.

Just in case you were interested here is what Rodger stone, that dresses like a clown thinks about Paul manafort’s suits from The Daily Caller:

Manafort’s style choices were generally wrong for his body type. His custom-made Italian suits never fit him properly largely because their svelte design was wrong for his built. Manafort had the view that if something was expensive that meant it was good. He wore $6, 500 suits that fit him badly.

Now, if Roger Stone would only look into the mirror and take his own advice and stop dressing like a clown.

“Did They Think I Was Just Going to Roll Over and Die?”: The Cohen vs. Trump Battle Ratchets Up – Vanity Fair

It’s funny how politics can make you switch allegiances. Take me for example, when James Comey came out and did that thing in October reigniting the so-called email scandal I was furious at him. Now he’s telling people to vote democratic, am I supposed to like them now?

Michael Cohen, the thug that has had the moniker of Donald Trump’s fixer for the last 15 years he’s not one of my favorite people on the planet. Now he’s trying to save his skin. He’s painting himself as a family man one who cares about his children and wants to watch them grow up and not do so from a prison cell. Hey, I’m a human being I understand completely that sentiment. The problem is when you sell your soul to the devil, the Devil comes and get your soul when it’s time. Michael Cohen can claim to be this new person hell-bent on making sure Donald Trump gets his but in the grand scheme of things Michael corn deserves everything he is going to get.

Why do we celebrate July 4th? Independence Day is a reminder that America is more than our constitutional parts – NBC NEWS

I am 64. So it has been a long time since I read the Declaration of Independence. Today I took the time and when was most shocking is that what our Founders found wrong with the king’s actions are so similar to what we are dealing with with our current president. Please take the time and read the following and see what similarities you can see with what we’re going through and what they were going through.

Excerpt of the Declaration of Independence ratified 242 years ago.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

I am in no way saying that we needs to declare independence from this president but I am showing you that many of the reasons we left the United Kingdom’s group was for the same reasons that we are so unhappy with our current president. Our current president thinks he is King.

Truth, I deleted my Facebook and I lost 45 lbs and here is how I did it. – Poliscijukee by Alain V Berrebi

Truth, I deleted my Facebook and I lost 45 lbs and here is how I did it.

I deactivated my Facebook account in November of 2017. It was not easy. When I first started my blog, Facebook generated 90% of the traffic. Now after years my traffic is generated from the search engines.

On a more personal note, I never used Facebook to remind me of my close friends birthdays. They are in my calendar on my phone and backed up to the clouds. My account had over 1,500 friends and honestly I knew maybe three hundred of them. And of those 300 I would call 30 my friends. Facebook has very cleverly changed what are understanding of friends had been through the centuries. I have read article upon article about how Facebook uses and did this very much by Design our need to be liked. So each time somebody gets a like it sends endorphins into their brain and they get just a little more hooked. I like myself, maybe that’s narcissistic but I don’t think so. I truly believe you need to like yourself before you can know how to like others.

And as far as far definition of what a friend is here goes. When I was a little kid my dad told me a story that his dad told them and that he told me his dad had been told by his dad and that it went down Generations. A boy lives on a small village. He is asked about his father when he reaches his teens how many friends does he had. The boy responds I have so many I can’t count them. He asked his father how he had so few friends. His father responded friends are not just people you know but people who actually care deeply about you. He told his son to go and kill a lamb, yes I hate this part but it is somewhat biblical, and put it into a burlap bag. Go to your friends all of those friends that you said you had and tell them you have just killed a man and can they help you. The ones who don’t slam the door on your face are your friends. I’m not telling you that they’re going to go and help you with your crime by hiding the fact that you did it but rather help you through this horrible thing you had done. That’s what a friend is.

Can we really truly say that all of those people that’s what we now have as so-called friends on Facebook who do that for us, I don’t have to think about this my answer is no.

So if you want to follow what I did there are some simple steps. Find out which of your friends birthdays are important to you and put them in your calendar. Make sure you have all of those friends contact information. Then go to the Facebook help area and ask how to deactivate your account. Depending on your platform and the vice they will be different. They will try to tug at your heartstrings at this point. Don’t let them. And then they will ask why you’re doing this. And this is important because there are 15 reasons but the important one you should check is other. And explain in your own words how upset you are at them for having allowed another country to meddle in other countries elections. They have a responsibility to their 2 billion users and they are failing miserably at it. Congressional leaders last week came out of hearings with Facebook and in a bipartisan scream that’s Facebook transparency and gave them ways of fixing what Facebook does. I have a simple way to stop at least some of what Russian does. Don’t accept rubles for political ads in another country. I don’t think that’s takes a rocket scientist to figure out. And I think Russia has a few rocket scientist on hand. And yes, Russia will find ways around this but that’s what they have something called algorithms add Facebook to circumvent.

Facebook will never change unless we force them to. I have a feeling that 2016 once a dress rehearsal for how Mark Zuckerberg plans to become president and either 2020 or 2024 depending on the political winds. That might seem harsh but think about it. You don’t see Google doing what Facebook did. First Google is a search engine and yes they have a duty to remove news that is false and opinions that are inappropriate but that’s not what Facebook is. Twitter gets literally hundreds of millions of tweets each day and again that’s not what Facebook does. I am not saying that Google and Twitter are without blame but to me in comparison with what Facebook did it’s something that they have announced they will fix and I believe them. And also neither Twitter on Google has a name like Mark Zuckerberg that everyone knows as their founders. Yes some people know who started Google and Twitter but it’s not as universal as Mark Zuckerberg.

When I said I lost 45 lb it was not clickbait. Ask my friends and neighbors and they will tell you I am transformed. Nothing magical, I had all this time on my hands so I started walking around beautiful downtown Los Angeles. I have a great gym in the building so I started going to the gym still had lots of time. Well then I started noticing that I was eating crappy food and I started watching what I was eating and I’ve gone from a size 38 waist to a size 32 and from an extra large shirt to a medium men. I went from 224 lb to 169 and I am 6ft 2. I’m not promising you all will lose weight but I’m sure you’ll find some great things to do with the time that you have been wasting on Facebook.

FACT CHECK: Was Obama Ranked ‘Worst President Since World War II’ in a New Poll? – Snopes

The hatred that the right has four former president Obama is unparalleled. They make up stories left and right trying to besmirch his Flawless record. Do you remember what was what it was like to have a President Who did not violate the constitution on a daily basis?

In fact, the poll shows, that Trump is the worst president we’ve had in the last 40 years. There is no doubt about that. There is empirical proof something that Trump supporters don’t believe in. They only want to believe in their truth.

The far-right lives in a bubble. It’s a bubble that believes fake news, fake polls but above all has come in pellucid hatred for President Obama. President Obama had eight years without a single scandal. Michelle Obama in an interview said that they have to be better than the other presidents because they were being judged buy a difference measure because they were African American. Wouldn’t it be refreshing to have Donald Trump act like Barack Obama for one day. That’s not going to happen and that pivots to presidential Behavior he’s an impossibility in this demagogue that we call our president.

Fight for Your White to Party Week 1999 – Miami New Times

One of the accomplishments in my life that I am the proudest of is my founding of White Party Week in Miami, first as a fundraiser for Health Crisis Network then for CareResource.

The first White Party took place at Frank Wager’s home in Coral Gables when people were dying around us and we had no idea of what was causing it. It then moved on to Viscaya one of the most beautiful places in Miami. By 1994 Keith Cromley the assistant director of development of htn came to me and said that there was no more room for growth in fundraising at one event in Viscaya. So we worked together to create White Party Week.

Along with 550 volunteers we created an event that was so spectacular that Sky one broadcasting from the UK did a three-hour documentary on how we accomplished it. In my last year as chairman we raised 1.2 million dollars after all expenses. In 1999 that was a lot of money. I resigned from my chairmanship in 2000 with a heavy heart but thought giving it to others to carry on would be the best after having been the chair for five years.

This was taken at the inception of White Party Week

We started off in 1995 with six events and grew to 23 events by the year 2000.

Lark Bennett and Keith Cromley we’re both instrumental has staff members in making sure that this huge event ran like a well-oiled machine. When Lark became the director of development for Care Resource she took it to the next level.

Being on the board of directors of HCN or Health Crisis Network and being the founding chair a white party week are two of the things I am most proud of in my life and I am so grateful that I was able to do so.

Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Right Now by Jaron Lanier – The Guardian

I have been telling anyone who will listen to me how my life has become happier since I deleted my Facebook account on November 11th of 2017. It started a whole series of events including opening up my social life I am back to the weight that I should be at and wearing the same as I did when I was 32 at 64 is pretty good. But beyond that the hatred that was everywhere on Facebook is no longer in my life. When I don’t like something on television I change the channel. I don’t like Facebook anymore so I deleted my account. Sure, family and friends are annoyed at me and think that I’m being obstinate. But if I’m anything I’m a man of my principles and my principles tell me that I need to get out of Facebook and so should you.

Their new campaign telling us that they’re changing so that Facebook becomes what it was meant to be is only there to stop the Hemorrhage of users that are deleting their accounts. Their stock price has tanked and is not recovering. I’m hoping that Facebook is the next Myspace or even better Friendster, and it will disappear into the Dust heap of terrible ideas.

Melania Is Trapped In The White House, Says France’s First Lady – HuffPost

I have always wondered how much of a real conversation a wife or husband has with their spouse about running for president. The ego it takes for someone to believe that they are smart and wise enough to become the leader of the Free World seems like a person hard to have a rational discussion with. I’m not saying Presidents are bad people, on the contrary. I just believe that many of the spouses have been dragged into their position because of the love they have for their mate. Even high-profile women like Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy or uncomfortable in the guise of first lady.

Melania Trump has a heavier burden to carry than most. Her husband is unpopular and the discrepancy in the way they look together makes their marriage scene unusual. But it’s not our place to decide whether or not a couple should be together, that is their decision and a very personal one at that.

So as much as I cannot stand her husband, I respect Melania Trump. She has said provide much for her adopted country.
