My meanderings about politics, LGBTQI COMMUNITY, space exploration, cars, cats, tech things and whatever else strikes my fancy. To the current occupant of the White House, we will not be taken into war on anyone's leash.
Honestly when I saw the report yesterday that Google had not removed this hateful app from its ecosystem I was very very disappointed. I thought that Google’s motto was Do no harm. I went to the Google play Store and reported the app for the many violations that it commits. It turns out Google did listen to the lgbtqi community and did the right thing. At the end of the day hatred of others it’s not something that as humans we should strive for. Instead being welcoming to everyone is how humanity will prosper.
I find it so ironic that when one of these anti-gay individuals finds out that they have a son or daughter that is gay there way of looking at things turn around. you would think that these people that espoused religious beliefs would understand that we are all God’s children. so thank you Google for doing the right thing, albeit a little late.
A Twitter cow account seems to have gotten under Devin Nunes’ skin. he has sued Twitter and two accounts for 250 million dollars saying that they have disparaged him in his character, ethics, and several other attributes he does not have.
All laughing aside this is serious on two fronts. First there is an amendment that comes before the 2nd amendment that the Republicans love so much it’s the first amendment. It’s the right to speak what we want to just as long as we are not creating danger for others. Example is screaming fire in a busy mall which would cause a rampage. And secondly for Devin Nunes. Once the spot light is shined on you it’s hard to get out of its Lair. Turns out his family’s farm in the California Central Valley employs a large number of undocumented immigrants, another hip-hop receipt of the GOP era under Trump. Thank you Esquire magazine for a great article.
I can see George Conway’s point and yes Donald J Trump has done more than commit high crimes and misdemeanors while in office and deserve to be removed from his role as president of the United States.
I can see Nancy pelosi’s point of view here also. We are only 598 days away from the election. Even if we were to start impeachment proceedings immediately, which as we all know Congress doesn’t work that way, it would be starting very close to the actual campaign and election. And what better argument to Rally his supporters is that the orange nightmare going on TV and saying that he’s being persecuted.
We are at a quandary here. I still believe that what I have liked to call impeachment light which will be a series of high profile testimonies in front of congress with the public looking on. The ratings for the Michael Cohen testimonies should tell you something about how the American people will be glued to their various forms of media.
Hell yes he should be impeached but I think our best move is to get him out of office through the electoral process and then making sure that he is prosecuted for all of the things that he has done including getting in bed with the enemy.
Bill Maher said of his friend Roseanne Barr there are Mental health problems with her. Blaming others for your own failure is not a mental issue it’s a weakness in character. She got fired from her show because she opened her mouth and let her bigoted opinions come out.
She and Trump agree he’s a stable genius. although watching his actions of late and his inability to speak common words start making us wonder whether or not there is a mental health issue with him as well.
Trump, there is no audit of your IRS tax returns.
Bernie Sanders your taxes are not trapped in TurboTax and your wife knows the password.
Roseanne Barr you got fired because of your own deeds.
Whatever you want to call it, the president’s faculties are starting to look suspicious. He calls his National Security advisor John Bolton Michael Bolton, he missed writes his own wife’s name and calls her Melanie, he couldn’t even remember his chief of staff’s name General John Kelly. So calling the CEO of Apple whose name is pretty well known by everyone in the world Tim Apple is not just insulting but disturbing.
I’ll be honest I did not watch the whole interview but the part that I did watch made me think that he was lying through his teeth. I know hindsight is 20/20 but it’s how I felt when I watched it. I thought the tears were phony and his whole storyline made no sense. Just as Robin Roberts said why would you not give up your phone when you are being threatened by two big guys. Your an actor on a successful television program and you can’t afford to get a new phone and it’s worth being injured for it? It didn’t make sense then and now we know it was not true.
Look as a gay man I wanted to believe him. But there were too many holes in the story. one more thing, if someone put a noose around my neck, I certainly would not walk around Chicago with it there and would have figured out a way of hiding it until I got to the hospital. But he did not he wore it all the way to the hospital.
I’ve said this before on this blog. What he did hurts every single person who has been, or will be a target of a hate crime. That’s all I can say at this point without getting angry.
I beg to differ with vice president Joe Biden and his assessment of Mike Pence being a decent guy. Decent people do not point out groups of individuals for hatred and discrimination. under his regime in Indiana the lgbtqi community suffered greatly. He and his wife believe in trying to cure homosexuals from their homosexuality. That is absurd. It’s just a political ploy to give himself more power. He’s not a decent man and anyone who thinks he is is not worthy to be the President of the United States.
And this is something that seems to be forgotten by the media. When Chris Christie was fired from the Trump transition Mike Pence took over. Mike Pence was there and he said nothing about all the Russians that were running around the transition. He said nothing about the hundred and fifty Russians at the inaugural. He said nothing because he knew what was going on and he is just as crooked as Trump.
This has not been a really illustrious time for the gay community. Here in Los Angeles we are rocked by two scandals involving high-profile gay leaders. The mayor of West Hollywood, John Duran, someone I consider a friend is under investigation for sexual harassment in the gay men’s chorus of Los Angeles. One of the butler’s that has been so instrumental in getting people elected with a progressive slats is also under investigation for two deaths that happened in his home under the circumstances that involved crystal meth. And now we have Jussie Smollett.
I am torn. Fox in the end what he has done is hurting everyone that has ever been the subject of a hate crime. Even the simple gear of being called faget on the street is in my opinion I hate crime. It’s on the same level as having the n-word thrown at an African-American. He used his celebrity to enrich himself. She already was in the cast of a successful show on Fox. He wasn’t happy with how much he got paid then that’s the job for his agent to resolve. Having said then a sag-aftra agents in the 80s I know exactly how this works and contracts need to be negotiated. But you ain’t what he did is inexcusable. I’m sorry he has hurt everyone who has ever been damaged by a hate crime.
He has played into the hands of the current occupants of the White House. Trump tweeted about this incident but seemed to completely ignore the fact that a white supremacist member of the coast guard wanted to kill Progressive media journalists. Trump says that the New York Times is the enemy of the people and he doesn’t understand that his words resonate with his cult like followers.
I’ve never been a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow. I’ve never been a fan of celebrities cashing in on their celebrity through fake or untrustworthy claims regarding products or even more importantly your health. And so here we are at the Nexus of both with Netflix being vehicle where this fake science is promoted.
People look up to celebrities, people should not look up to celebrities. And yes they do. I don’t understand why someone who has a large media presence or an online following should be looked upon as having some special knowledge. They don’t, they are humans and they put on their pants, if they put them on themselves, one leg at a time. so I call upon Netflix to make sure that’s it just yours and especially the viewers of this Gwyneth Paltrow pseudoscience goop is made aware that this is not real science and there should be a Giant disclaimer. The way Netflix is going of late I don’t think they will.
And most of all, Gwyneth Paltrow, please get a life.
I’ll preface this by saying I am not a fan of Jeff Bezos.
That being said, I’m certainly not a fan of the National enquirer or its parent corporation run by David Pecker. Yes, I used his name because it was funny in a sophomoric way.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about this. I had a caregiver about 3 years ago who was a gay man in his early 60s. He was well-educated and had a career as a character actor in Hollywood. He would take me to the grocery store and as we will check out he would short reading of theheadlines about Hillary Clinton on the cover of the National enquirer and tell mehow this was making him not want to vote for her.
How many others do you think had that same idea in the back of their heads?
78000 in three States?
Yes it’s a tabloid but for some reason people want to believe it’s headlines. Maybe because they’re salacious and people want to think that others have a worse life than they do even if they’re celebrities, especially if they’re celebrities. And to me that’s the danger of this publication. I would never advocate for it to be closed for any reason but it would be really nice if mainstream media would call it out for what it is, a bunch of lies.
