Would Buttigieg be the first gay president? Maybe not. – NBC News

I read what the historians say in the article and I find it preposterous. Basically they claim that MD 18th and 19th century there were confirmed bachelors who had sexual relationships with men but the historians say they were not gay! I think we’re dealing with semantics here because the word gay came out after Stonewall but homosexuality, pansies and the other slurs that were used in those time periods were aimed specifically at the people we now call gay.

Mayor Pete says that the odds are we had a gay president in the past. We’ve had 45 presidents and approximately 4.5% of the population identify themselves as gay. You do the math.

Historians like history to stay etched in stone and so therefore I think that they may be close-minded to what is a pretty obvious tell in a couple of our presidents intimate lives. I’m not going to be here outing any president and nor did mayor Pete, I think it was the historians who did it in the article.

Fake science led a mom to feed bleach to her autistic sons and police did nothing to stop her – NBC News

The word fake has certainly made quite a comeback in the era of trump. Those of us who hear the word fake news either are horrified or chuckle, I am always horrified and I’ve stopped using the word site even in my daily conversations as not to bring up the memory of fake news in someone else’s head.

We have fake videos also known as deepfake which can be used by anyone with a decent laptop to make videos of anyone saying anything. I know this is going to be prominent in the 2020 election cycle and beyond. As technology gets better it’s going to be harder and harder to see what is actually the truth. Putting words into an opponent’s mouth that he or she had never said will be commonplace. I remember when Photoshop first appeared on the scene. In the early 90s it was easy to see that something was photoshopped. It’s getting harder and harder to see that as the technology and the skills of those using it have improved.

And now we have fake science. Whether it’s these weird anti-vaccination people who’s ranks are growing day by day. I saw that Jessica Biel is not one of these anti-vaccination weirdos.I am 65 years old and in pretty good health for a man my age. I have had every vaccination that is cold for my medicine since I was born and I continued that practice today. I’ll be having my pneumonia vaccine done on the 17th of June. I schedule my flu shot vaccine in October and have my yearly physical at the same time. What’s a science is not just a sad story of people who are desperateI am 65 years old and in putting it is health for a man my age. I have had every vaccination that is cold for my medicine since I was born and I continue that practice today. Hope he having my pneumonia vaccine done on the 17th of June. I schedule my flu shot vaccine in October and have my yearly physical let the same time. But say science is not just a sad story of people who are desperate for a cure it’s also story about how Facebook in Twitter spread these ridiculous claims. Drinking bleach? Really? I know this mother was trying to make her infant better so I understand why the police did not pursue charges but even in Kansas I hope they are following up on the carrot she’s giving her kids.

I think we need to defend the first amendment a lot more than we need to defend the second one. That being said there are times when the first amendment needs to be breached. The famous case is the one where someone yells fire in a movie theater when there is no fire. Well I think that that same rationale should be used on social media for posts that claim things that are dangerous to do. Prime example giving bleach to your child to get rid of autism or telling people that vaccines are dangerous. enough is enough and it’s time for social media to take responsibility for what they are doing to our communities.

This is what state of Kansas is like for those who can’t take care of themselves:

Local police, the state’s division of adult protective services and a medical doctor treating Jeremy have all declined to intervene. A police spokesman said there wasn’t enough evidence that chlorine dioxide was dangerous; a caseworker with the Kansas Adult Protective Services told police that she didn’t see the situation as serious enough for the state to take action.

Shame on Kansas.

Yesterday I deleted my Twitter account. I was harassed for being gay by a trump supporter but Twitter said that he did not violate their guidelines because this person did not have a history of doing this. Does that mean that I can go out and shoot someone and not have any repercussions because I have never had a history of shooting someone. I won’t be unnecessarily upset because I’m on some social media platform. So unfortunately I think my blog will be coming to an end next month.yesterday I deleted my Twitter account. Then a great run but after leaving Facebook my traffic was cut by 95 percent and Twitter and LinkedIn were my only ways to reach out to potential readers. I don’t have advertising on this blog but posting so that one or two people see it is what I think is akin to mental masturbation.

Evangelical Taylor U community in uproar over Pence speech: “Deeply at odds with following Christ” – Salon

Presidential candidate and mayor Pete Buttigieg said it best when he called out Mike Pence on his twisted form of Christianity. Look I’m not a Christian I was raised Jewish and right now I’m kind of nothing. I look in religion and I don’t see that it’s done very much good to the world other than cause Wars and ferment hatred. Sure there has been good from religion but it’s always with a secondary motive to bring people into the fold.

Mike Pence is the worst kind of Christian. Mike Pence thinks that people are not equal because he doesn’t want them to be. This is the Mike Pence who was in charge of the Trump transition and did not notice all the Russians running around. Come on Mike Pence knew everything was going on and never said anything because he’s an opportunist. if Christ were back on this Earth he would have Mike Pence excommunicated because Mike Pence is a bad man and he needs to be called out for that.

It’s great seeing an Evangelical college and its professors coming out against his speaking there. we all see Indiana has this homo genius kind of place where everyone hates gays. Peter Buttigieg came out as gay in the middle of an election and one by 80% of the vote.

Mike Pence is not part of the mainstream and Mike Pence is culpable for all of the inhumanity of this Administration. Locking up children in cages, separating parents from their kids, banning transgenders in the military, the lies, sleeping with pornstars, paying off those pornstars and the list goes on and on. I’m not going to say the name of thepresent occupant of the white house because he craves that.

It’s time we all shun him the first ones that should are the msnbc’s of the world because they claim to be a liberal voice and yet each time this man spews out his hatred they are right there trying to get the ratings.

Mike Pence has the right to speak but when he spews hatred one starts wondering

Peter Buttigieg is gay enough and the Democrats should not be eating their own – NYT

Two months ago most of us would have been shocked to find out that one of the main cities in Indiana had a gay mayor. Two months ago most of us did not know who Peter Buttigieg was. And here we are.

So far in this presidential season I have given money to two candidates, Kamala Harris my Senator and Peter Buttigieg. I thought I’d be up front about that right off the bat.

In this age of Russian trolls or Chinese trolls or Iranian trolls we need to be careful who we think we’re hearing information from. Oppo research is going to be released not just by opposing candidates but from other countries now. I believe that it is the goal of those who want to destroy the American system to spread as much mis-information as possible.

I have not made it a secret on my blog that I am a gay man. So sure I was intrigued and somewhat scared to hear there was a gay man running for President. But then I heard him speak and I tried to remove the filter of my being gay as well and I was truly impressed by this 37 year old man. His resume is amazing. He is taken South bend Indiana from the brink of bankruptcy to a thriving City. He has a budget of 385 million dollars and overseas a staff of a thousand within the city. I don’t know how many senators that can claim the same. He served two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He’s a Rhodes scholar, went to Harvard and seems to have his head firmly placed upon his shoulders.

So let the naysayers be naysayers but Democrats stop acting like we are each other’s enemies. sure I say never Brownie and not because I don’t like Bernie Sanders so much but because I truly believe he could quickly and easily lose to the present occupant of the White House and that scares me because I don’t know whether or not our country can survive another four years of this madman.

Naysayers, what is gay enough?

Trump says he is ‘saving’ Barrett for Ginsburg seat: Axios

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Having picked a completely partisan attorney General has been the biggest mistake that the present occupant of the White House has made. Sure he and his sycophants are doing victory dances all over social media and Fox News. The problem is we don’t know what is in the Mueller report. How can four pages of obviously redacted for content stand in the place of a 400-page report? Decant. There are sentences that were not even complete quotes from the report. And the report clearly state that it does not exonerate Trump from obstruction of justice charges. This report is going to become public and what it does this sugar high that the Republican party is on right now is going to taste very very bitter.

Never has in modern times a president hoped for the demise of a Supreme Court Justice. Can you imagine if President Obama had even suggested that he had a replacement for the chief justice? The Republican heads in Washington would have exploded in unison. They are packing the courts, the federal courts with what they said was their biggest problem with quartz, activist judges. Ruth bader Ginsburg is going nowhere and that this man has the audacity to say he’s already picked her replacement is beyond the pale. And judge Barrett has proven herself to be an anti-abortion zealot someone who will do everything in her power to overturn a woman’s right to control her own body. That’s going to sit well with 51% of the population, don’t you think?

Google removes conversion therapy app from Play Store – The Verge

Honestly when I saw the report yesterday that Google had not removed this hateful app from its ecosystem I was very very disappointed. I thought that Google’s motto was Do no harm. I went to the Google play Store and reported the app for the many violations that it commits. It turns out Google did listen to the lgbtqi community and did the right thing. At the end of the day hatred of others it’s not something that as humans we should strive for. Instead being welcoming to everyone is how humanity will prosper.

I find it so ironic that when one of these anti-gay individuals finds out that they have a son or daughter that is gay there way of looking at things turn around. you would think that these people that espoused religious beliefs would understand that we are all God’s children. so thank you Google for doing the right thing, albeit a little late.

“Mayor Pete” Buttigieg: 2020 primary star of the week – Slate Magazine

As a member of the lgbtqi community I was intrigued by Peter Buttigieg’s presidential run early on. so I started following him closely. I saw posts by influential gays like David mixner on Instagram praising him. I saw snippets of interviews with him and he seemed quite credible. And then I got to watch the town hall meeting that made him look like a star. he had a grasp of the issues that the present occupant of the White House would only wish to have even with all of the presidential briefings. He has boots on the ground experience and two terms of duty in Afghanistan. He’s a Rhodes scholar, went to Harvard and as a lot of people like to say just happens to have a husband.

in 2004 I had a viewing party for the Democratic National Convention at my place. I watched with my friends President Obama make his now famous speech and afterwards I turned to my friends and said he’s going to be our next president. They left, I’m not used to my friends laughing at me when I’m making a serious remark.

Can Mayor Pete be the first yay person in the White House? I’m not sure but we need to give him a chance by putting him on the stageof the democratic debates and let him show how good he is to the rest of the country.

By the way I just got his email regarding his campaign fundraising totals. His average donation was $27.01. A penny more than Bernie Sanders.

Pete Buttigieg wants ‘intergenerational justice.’ What’s that? – NBC News

The Republicans are all up in arms about the freshman members of Congress. sure their views are different but of course they’re also younger and I have had a different life experience than somebody who’s been in Congress for the last 50 years.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg is talking long-term issues. Weighing these issues on how they are going to mature in the future. We seem to make our decisions based on a one-year budget. The best our government can do is a two-year farm Bill. It’s time we think a little bit further down the line then one or two years. China thinks in decades and has a plan mapped out for its economy and its people. Look I’m not talking about the dogmatic five-year plans of the Soviet Union.I’m talking about actual planning on how and why we want our economy to grow. Infrastructure should be our number one goal and this country. spending money on infrastructure does not balloon the debt. Spending money on infrastructure actually lowers the debt. The Republicans know that but they want us to be unhappy with the government so not fixing infrastructure is the best way of doing that.

Mayor Peter Buttigieg has some fresh ideas and he deserves to be on the stage when we have the debates in June.

CNN focus group rejects Biden – TheHill

Joe Biden is subject to gaffs.

If elected to Joe Biden would be the oldest president ever.

Joe Biden has problems with understanding who are good people. How youbelieve that Mike Pence is a decent person. Decent people don’t hate. Decent people don’t try to eradicate those who are different from them.

Marc Short, Mike Pence’s incoming Chief of Staff, wrote an op-ed about the AIDS crisis. He trotted out several stupid ideas: that media reports around the AIDS crisis “glorify homosexuals’ repugnant practices”; that the LGBTQ community should remain in the closet and just deal with AIDS quietly on their own, etc, etc, etc.

So I agree with the CNN focus group. Joe Biden your time has come and gone. You are a great VP and that’s all I have to say about it. Let’s let’s a new generation bring their ideas to the table and enough with the old politics.

Inside Robin Roberts’ ‘GMA’ interview with Jussie Smollett – Page Six

I’ll be honest I did not watch the whole interview but the part that I did watch made me think that he was lying through his teeth. I know hindsight is 20/20 but it’s how I felt when I watched it. I thought the tears were phony and his whole storyline made no sense. Just as Robin Roberts said why would you not give up your phone when you are being threatened by two big guys. Your an actor on a successful television program and you can’t afford to get a new phone and it’s worth being injured for it? It didn’t make sense then and now we know it was not true.

Look as a gay man I wanted to believe him. But there were too many holes in the story. one more thing, if someone put a noose around my neck, I certainly would not walk around Chicago with it there and would have figured out a way of hiding it until I got to the hospital. But he did not he wore it all the way to the hospital.

I’ve said this before on this blog. What he did hurts every single person who has been, or will be a target of a hate crime. That’s all I can say at this point without getting angry.
