Lady Gaga Slams Mike Pence: He’s ‘The Worst Representation’ Of Christianity – HuffPost

Mike Pence is a hypocrite. He says he was a Christian but he hates people. I’m not an expert on Christianity but I know that Christ did not hit people.

Further Mike Pence as far as I’m concerned is a traitor. He was in charge of the transition and never said anything about the dozens and dozens and dozens of Russian who were mingling around the Trump campaign and then the Trump transition. You didn’t say anything about the hundreds of Russians who came to the Trump inaugural. Even if he did nothing wrong he was complicit and that’s just as bad.

5 year anniversary!

5 years ago a friend of mine, Iain McDonald, suggested I start a blog. He said that he had read all my stuff on Facebook and thought that’s I should have my own platform. I am very grateful for that thought from him.

Sure this is a vanity blog and I stopped allowing advertising on it a year ago. But it allows me to say how I feel about issues of the day and it does not promote what happens on Twitter and Facebook when you disagree with someone. I no longer use Facebook as I have said so many times on this platform and the block has been my outlet and for that I am very grateful.

For those of you who read this on a regular basis, I thank you.

Trump-Cohen situation is reminiscent of Nixon era, experts say – Business Insider

There is a very Fringe theory out there that we are all living in a giant simulation created by the Masters of the universe I guess, just like The Sims video game. It goes on to say that the pixels that we see in television screens and computer screens are actually a representation of our atoms. all that aside, if it’s true, they sure are playing with our heads.

memories of Watergate and it’s incredibly slow progression to the resignation of Nixon. All of the same arguments I’m hearing today were said in those days. Republicans stood by their man until their man was drowning and was about to take them down. But the turning point, and this is not an opinion it’s a fact, was the testimony of John Dean. If you look at a glass of President Nixon’s approval ratings right before John Dean testimony he was at 41%, sounds familiar? Pastor John Dean’s testimony live happens over the next year down to a 21% approval rating and I’d that point Republicans jumped ship.

So all the pundits out there giving their opinions is the only difference between now and Watergate. people may not remember but the evening news was only 15 minutes back then. It was expanded to a half-hour because of Watergate. And other than newspapers magazines it was very few other places one could get fresh information on what was happening. And then the hearing started and I like all of America were focus like a laser beam on the testimony of the various witnesses. In the end we all saw that Nixon was a crook, wire, and not a very nice man.

And then there’s the tapes. Nixon, I’m sure to his chagrin until his death, decided it would be a good idea to record everything that happened in the Oval Office. when people found out about the tapes they subpoenaed them and we waited, and waited, and waited and finally Supreme Court said turn over the fence. When the White House turned over to Pace there was the famous 18 minutes gas in the most relevant conversation in the Oval Office regarding Watergate. That was clearly seen as obstruction of justice. Nixon went down after that.

So here we are in 2019 reliving the nightmare of Watergate except this time we have 24 hours a day coverage of it hands a public spectacle by a man who has no regard for the office that he holds. I never liked Nixon, I remember the day that’s his victory was announced. I was in a classroom and Jane long Jr high School in Houston Texas. The boat was closed and the final outcome did not come until around 9 in the morning Houston time. And the announcement was made over the loudspeakers and you could hear a groan in the middle of the class. Texas was different back then. George h bush was our congressman, and my dad hated him. there was some civility in the discourse and our Representatives knew that they were working for the people. Today it seems that everyone is only catering to their base and not to the population they represent. I hope the pendulum swings and we come back to an error civility and our country’s government.

To get there we need the resignation or impeachment of Donald Trump and then we need to heal. I’m a member of an organization called better Angels, if you’re not you should become a member for their $10 fee. They are trying to bridge the size between the red and the blue and hopefully one day we’ll be back to being a purple or the Kaleidoscope of colors that we are.

The stock market hasn’t started a year this strongly since 1987 — uh-oh! – MarketWatch

It is said that’s when something happens in your life that’s very memorable, like the Challenger explosion or the death of President Kennedy or 911 you remember exactly what happened and vivid images. Well I was a stockbroker at Prudential Bache in Fort Lauderdale Florida in 1987. I remember that day well when the market crashed. we had computers on her desk but they were nothing like what we have now obviously, and they were programmed for a stock market that was running around 2,000. when it crashed below 500 the programmers had never envisioned it to do that so they all went black. We were blocked and our clients will calling us hysterically.

in today’s numbers it would be like a stock market Fall of 3,000 points in one day. I loved that job until that day. I helped a lot of customers try to save some of their wealth. But the business changed at that point and within a year I had quit being a stockbroker. Many of my fellow brokers work doing things that should never be done to clients. Much of the hierarchy of Prudential-Bache went to jail, including its president, and for good reason.

So we can we are repeating history oh, it feels like I’m in a Time Warp, between the similarities with Watergate and now the stock market.

There is an expression in politics that says “it’s the economy stupid”, so correct. So I hope and pray that this is not going to happen to us but with the government shutdown, the ridiculous tax increases for the wealthy, trade Wars I don’t see a very Rosy future for our economy. More than any thing that Michael Cohenn could say.

Bernie Sanders apologizes to women on 2016 campaign who were ‘harassed or mistreated’ – CNNPolitics

Chuck Todd on Meet the Press Daily today said it best, how can Bernie Sanders defends this by saying he was busy, does he not think the president is going to be busy? Does he not not realize that saying that limits his appeal?

I have lost friendships over Bernie Sanders. I don’t understand his appeal. He’s an old Jewish man and that’s coming from another one, me. I believe that he was the reason we have Donald Trump. let’s not make any mistake about it he attacked Hillary for her being a woman who made some speeches after she left office. That attack stuck. I heard it’s from people on the street during 2016 all the time. They said that she was in the pocket of Wallstreet, whose refrain is that?

You run a campaign and it will demonstrate how you will run the country. Case and point:

Donald J Trump.

BREAKING NEWS: Steyer won’t run for president in 2020 – POLITICO

Tom Steyer is a true patriot.

He’s putting his money where his mouth is. After last night speech from the Oval Office it has become clear to me that we could no longer wait for an indictment and we need to move on impeachment. I believe the American people will be behind this move. Thank you Tom Steyer for bringing this important issues to the forefront very early in this madman’s presidency.

Trump Jr. suggests border wall is like a zoo fence – CBS News

This is truly a window into house this unholy family in the White House thinks about people of color. These are human beings and not animals. Heir Don Junior is supposed to be the smart or one of the two brothers running Trump org.

I wonder how much he will like being in a cage himself. when he goes to prison let’s all remind him that it’s nothing more than a fence in a zoo.

Supreme Court turns down mysterious Mueller subpoena fight – POLITICO

If you’re like me and you watch Rachel maddow house broadcast each night you are more than familiar with this case.

It’s a case that’s been completely shrouded in secrecy. Commentators have had to read tea leaves to figure out what’s going on. What we know is that a foreign corporation has been doing its best to undermine the Mueller probe. we don’t know where this foreign corporation is but we can ascertain that it may be from Russia. It’s unheard of in the history of the Supreme Court for there to be a secret hearing before The Supreme Court and salt I’m not surprised. The Supreme Court sided with the special counsel’s office. But don’t let this decision make you feel comfortable regarding the special council’s ability to continue his probe. We still have Supreme Court Justice cavanaugh on the porch and we know how biased he is and we know that he will not recuse himself because he’s one of those people that just just stubborn and stands his ground. Sounds familiar, he’s cutting the same mold as the man in the White House. For now I am so happy to hear that the Supreme Court did the right thing and I hope they will continue to do so in the future
