Hillary Clinton Gets Surprised By Justice Sonia Sotomayor at Costco

Secretary of state question will be at the grove in los angeles on the 19th of June for a similar event. Very amusing that she is in a costco and not a walmart., AVB

ARLINGTON, Va. — Book signing in aisle 30.

Among pallets of paper towels and bottled water, Hillary Clinton spent more than three hours Saturday morning autographing copies of her new memoir, “Hard Choices,” at a Costco in Northern Virginia.

And, as it turns out, you really never know who will show up.

“I don’t believe this,” Clinton said as she embraced Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor across the table.

Justice Sotomayor said she happened to be “just shopping” at the bulk discount depot when she spied the former secretary of state sitting down. She told Clinton she plans to read her book.

“You better, I love yours,” Clinton responded.

Two of Clinton’s nieces and nephews, plus Congressman John Lewis, D-Ga., also made cameos at the event, which drew more than 1,000 people, including some former staffers.

“2016, we are ready for you,” one woman said to the former first lady after getting her book autographed.

Clinton would be the heavy Democratic favorite in 2016 if she does choose to run for president again.

Attendees were required to have a Costco membership to participate and could purchase copies of her memoir for $18.99.

Costco has become a popular venue for Democrats to hold events, with both President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden making appearances at stores in the past.

This is just the latest stop on Clinton’s book tour.

On Friday night, she spoke at a Politics and Prose-sponsored event on the campus of George Washington University in Washington, DC., where she was asked about her legacy.

“I am not ready to stop and think about legacies,” she replied.

She garnered loud applause when she mentioned daughter Chelsea’s first child.

“I want to keep thinking about what my life has meant to me and what my obligations are to my grandchild and everyone else,” Clinton said, “and I am going to do that through the work at the Clinton Foundation and in other ways.”
